Review: It can turn 482 yd of yarn into one cake! - I have seen this anywhere between TikTok and right here on desertcart and I finally bit the bullet and bought it. It does take a little practice to get it down the way that you want it to but it's really not as bad as some has made it out to be in some reviews. I have owned this for over a month now and it takes less time for me to wind almost a full 482 yd skein of worsted weight yarn into a cake then it would originally take maybe double the time with double the cakes. It is a little loud depending on the speed. It does move a little bit again depending on the speed but as long as you have it secured onto a flat surface you should be fine. It was incredibly easy to put together. Far as functionality, I've learned that if you hold lightly onto your yarn as it's being fed through the winder almost kind of like a guide it helps make the tension tighter on the winder itself to help get a much tighter cake. Also once it's completely done, and you remove it from the ball winder you may be left with a rather large hole in the middle all you have to do is work it a little bit and you can't even tell the difference. I absolutely love this! It has helped me out so much especially since I have quite a large yarn stash. I highly recommend it for anyone who has issues as far as mobility goes with your hands especially if you have been crocheting for over 20 years like I have lol. I would absolutely buy this again if I had to. The price point is a little high but again it is well worth it. Now it takes less than half an hour. Now it is not fully automatic in a way that you can leave it running with supervision, you have to hold the roll of yarn and continuously flip it around like a dead fish motion but this takes literally no effort and can be done while listening to an audiobook or watching a show. Overall I would give this six stars for how much time I’m saving WELL worth the price. ## Frequently Bought Together - Etcokei Yarn Winder, Electric Yarn Ball Winder for Crocheting, Compact Yarn Cake Winder with Strong Tension Stepless Speed, Automatic Yarn Spinner Wool Winder, Ideal Helper for Knitting Lovers(Purple) - Yarniss 14 Size Crochet Hooks Set 2mm(B)-10mm(N), Ergonomic Crochet Hooks with Case for Arthritic Hands,Extra Long Crochet Needles --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.kr/products/567484428-yarn-winder-electric-auto-compact-cake-winding-for-knitting-lovers](https://www.desertcart.kr/products/567484428-yarn-winder-electric-auto-compact-cake-winding-for-knitting-lovers) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Korea* *Store origin: KR* *Last updated: 2026-10-20*
