Barbie Scientist Doll

I'm not going to lie; my initial reaction was, 'Great. Of course she has to be a sexy scientist.' But I will give props to this Barbie where props are due. She has tons of gorgeous dark red hair that's well-distributed and looks amazing with her brown eyes. The lab coat is a very high quality miniature version of the real thing. The violet dress underneath is nice and looks great on its own, and I like that she comes with cute flats. Also, the realistic Erlenmeyer flask and safety glasses are a great touch.

I love that this doll is tan skin and dark hair..perfect gift for a little girl we know who looks just like her and loves all things science. So happy Barbie is making barbies that represent ALL girls and inspiring ALL interests and careers.

I bought this doll in December, and it arrived in a damaged box that rendered it ungiftable. I reordered her again and she arrived in an intact package, unlike 2 other dolls that shipped along with her. Her packaging was quite different this time. Matbe Mattel figured changed the packaging to make it more stable?I included a photo of the Asian American dentist doll that shipped with this doll. Notice the patterns on the side? The scientist doll was originally in such a package; now the plastic is smooth and there is very little cardboard overhang as well. If you press on the plastic parts on the dentist's packaging, it is "bouncy" or it flexes. This doesn't happen with the new packaging.Between Dec. 2019 and Feb 6, I ordered 14 regular sized dolls, 11 female, and 3 male: 7 of them arrived in damaged packaging. That is 50 % of the dolls. I'm not so sure it is entirely the packaging that results in damage either. There's something else going on.I love these career Barbies, esp this scientist and her science lab playset. I never would have imagined such things, it makes me wish I was a kid again....

I am so happy Mattel has introduced the Careers into the Barbie line. This Scientist Doll is beautiful with brown skin and reddish hair. I love the dress (even if it not lab appropriate) , separate lab jacket, and closed toe shoes.(the shoes are lab appropriate) I wish the line came with an articulated or made to move body.

The doll hair was a mess and her head has a odd tilt. She was clean, well dressed. I tried to fix her hair before the picture. The package had fell apart.

My niece and her scientist parents loved it. Love expanding her toys to include sports, science, and jobs.

Girls can be anything, why not teach them this by giving them career dolls? My 5 year old niece loves barbie dolls. I wanted to add something different to her collection and teach her something at the same time. So I got her A Scientist Doll. She loved it.
