ドイツレベル(Revell) German Level 07687 1/24 Jaguar E-Type Roadster Plastic Model

My Uncle had 2 Jag XK-E's, both bought new in the 1960's. I've built many models, starting with the Aurora 1/24, one from Revell, and the HUGE 1/8 by Monogram all in the 60's. Then I bought or was given several diecast versions, in 1/18 and 1/24-25 scale. None of them really did the beauty of the car justice- but this new one by Revell Germany does! The thing previous attempts blew was the unique covered headlights, which in person are so stunning- likely what brought Enzo Ferrari to say it was the most beautiful car in the world. This model captures that and the attention to minute detail is spot on. The decal sheet is a big plus too, even printing a copy of the factory service manual cover, which I remember my Uncle had in his cars! -see the first photo attached. All of the gauges are included for the dash as well. Do take your time with the kit and get the right paints to finish it off. This kit deserves it!

It is such a nice treat when a kit is manufactured so well, that there are minimal amounts of flash and minimal amount of mold lines/ ejector pin marks. I don't mind doing some, but some manufactures do not produce quality in this way with their kits.The other interesting point is that Revell kits do not fight you on assembly. Directions are clear and unambiguous allowing for making the model very enjoyable. I will continue to buy this brand of model kit due to the quality.....and the price was fair too!
