Yes, the cane is very cheap, but it serves the purpose of a costume piece. It's definitely not made to be used to lean on when walking and is made out of plastic. It comes in four separate pieces that screw together. It stays together well. For the price I paid, I got what I expected. It's also only about as tall as a cane (I'm 5'11), not a tall staff as it appears in some of the pictures.
