Lonely Planet Bhutan: Perfect for exploring top sights and taking roads less travelled (Travel Guide)

Good for practical information and up to date

Bhutan seems a very strange place but entirely captivating but how to navigate the strangeness? There is loads on the web of course but this does seem a very sensible and well-researched staring point, apparently updated in Dec 2023 (8th edition). I don’t get the criticism of the recent editions which seem just fine in their balance of practical info. and historic-cultural background. For more detailed or up to the minute info you’d have to do more research anyway but this is a perfect start. Also excellent photos and not just the usual agency selections most guides seem to use. I don’t think there is a better guide to this unique land.

Good guide book but had to wait ages for delivery! Notified it had been shipped on 30th January and it finally arrived today = 8th February!! Not the usual prompt service from Amazon!
