4g variant. Entering contacts is a bit slow. Capitalising initial letters is tedious but works. Two entry methods, Nokia-like where you press buttons rapidly to select character and bespoke where you move cursor over selection. Unlike some senior phones you can actually turn off the power up and down melody that is most annoying. Quite small with a good charging dock that uses pogo contacts. Charging connector is USB C shape but uses USB 2 (5V only) protocol, will not charge if connected to a full-spec multi-voltage USB C charger. You can charge in the dock or directly on the phone. Supports hands free mode, press right multi-function button during a call. Handbook, lacks much info but at least makes the process of installing SIM card clear. During charging the external phone and message lights become charging and charged. FM radio does NOT require headphones to be connected. Overall a useful emergency, senior or child phone. Reasonably robust. Replaceable battery, 1 SIM slot , 1 micro SD slot. Update: The SOS Function first give a two tone warning and the right multi-function button allows the procedure to be cancelled if SOS button pressed by mistake. (Some phones have no way to cancel apart from removing battery.) Strongly advise that for elderly people, the charging cable is connected to the docking station permanently so the phone can just be dropped in to charge; gravity holds the charging pins in contact with phone - charging could not be easier and no contact wear. Phone can be operational or powered down whilst being charged.

Well when it worked, the phone was easy to use, and my elderly mother liked the 3 dedicated speed dial buttons, plus the fact it had 9 other speed dials that could be assigned to the number keys. The calls were clear and the sound was good. The problem is despite not really being used much, the phone died within 9 months, and trying to get hold of someone to make a guarantee claim is nigh on impossible. The Artfone website shows an email address that you can't contact and a phone number that appears to be for an insurance services company. So all in all, it looks like it could be £41 down the grid.

good price & spec , but User Guide totally inadequate - does not tell you how to put it into operation. impossible to take SIM card from Nokia and put it in here - does not fit. how are you supposed to copy info from i/c msg 2 contacts? SOS button = PITA: too easy to trigger when removing phone from pocket, so disabled. selecting characters from menu on text i/p is also a PITA. how do you get upper case? if you keep a transistor radio DO NOT put the chargng dock next to it as you will get LARGE AMOUNTS of FM interference. after only 10 days hinge on flip top feels insecure (but still workimg)

Great wee phone. Got for elderly dad. He love how opening it answers calls, and closing it ends them. Hassle free. Good loud ringing tones.

It does not give you the option to call the person when you bring up their name in the contacts. Only edit, message or delete contact. I put a number in on the speed dial option and it only shows the number that you are calling and not a name. Not happy as I will have to buy another phone as I bought this for my older sister and had to wait until I travelled to see her and have now gone past the thirty day returns (yes my own fault but I didn’t have a small SIM card initially and had to wait for a new one to be delivered). We live and learn.
