Very light, but nice and durable
I said I'd come back 10 years later after writing my initial review. So here I am. Please read my thoughts below, which I still agree with*, but as I promised: I'd come back to award the 5th star if the watch was still going, on its original battery - which it is. *One small, amendment after 10 years of use... I said below that setting the digital and analogue time is "easy enough to understand" - which I guess it is, but it's by no means intuitive"! Even after 10 years, I keep having to refer to the manual to remind myself how to set the analogue time. I see the price has gone up to £33 now - possibly still too high compared to what other electronic gadgets can be had for that amount of money. I bought this watch to take on holiday as I wanted a reliable, light and waterproof replacement for my normal watch. I'm very happy with it in all of those respects. I like the slightly unusual colour (when else have you seen a beige watch?!) although that has led to a problem for me personally. My eyesight isn't that great and in not so good light I can't read the time without my specs. To be honest I'd have been better off choosing a watch with a colour where the hands stood out more from the face - but that's my problem, (but worth bearing in mind if you haven't got 20:20 vision and want to be able to check the time without putting on your glasses). The backlight is bright enough and the luminous hands are visible in pitch black for several minutes. As far as the digital display is concerned, I just leave it set on the date and can't imagine using the data bank thingie. The alarm is about the usual volume from a watch (ie I wouldn't trust it to wake me up)! I like the canvas strap - it should hopefully last longer than the plastic ones from my earlier cheapo Casio watches. I found it easy to set the time and date. Setting the time on the hands (ie analogue time): it's easy enough to understand how to do it, but it's a bit long winded. Moving the time back an hour (eg when travelling back from our holiday) meant advancing the hands forward 11 hours, which was a bit of a pain as they didn't move that quickly. Advance 1 minute too far and you've got to go all the way round again. (Ah well, it helped pass some of the time on the flight home)! Half a star taken off for the above inconvenience and another half off for the price, which having handled and used the watch for a few months, I believe is at least £5 too steep. If the watch is still working after ten years then I'll come back on and give it the 5th star! Apart from my personal issue with the colour, I do recommend this watch.

Excellent (for the price)
This is a cheap watch make no mistake. It looks a little cheap and feels cheap. It is very light - no way is the case stainless steel except for the back. The bit holding the strap pins is plastic/resin not metal. The "crystal" may be glass or plastic - hard to tell - it's supposed to be mineral glass whatever that means, but I don't expect it to be scratchproof based on other reviews and my previous experience with Casio watches. So why 4 stars? Because it's very comfortable to wear, the black face version is very easy to read, it has many functions, it has 10 year battery life (none of my previous watches has lasted anywhere near 10 years before going wrong, so I've decided it's not worth paying more for a solar powered watch), I expect it to be accurate and reliable and because it was cheap I can wear it all the time without worrying about it. It also looks alright if you don't look too closely. It has some operational quirks - you have to set the digital time, the analogue time and the world time independently of each other. It has no second hand (which I actually like), but of course you can see seconds on the digital display if you want. It has a perpetual calendar (that's the main reason I bought an ana-digi watch), and a usable light. It also has various alarms, timers, stopwatches, world time function etc. which I'll probably never use. If it lasts 10 years it'll be a miracle, but if it goes for 3 or 4 it's a bargain anyway.

It's a pretty watch.
I love this watch, it's become my daily for a bit. I have a few watches so to say one is my daily is quite something. I did have to replace the strap pin though, as they hadn't correctly linked the strap in the factory. 🙄 However at this price point, it's perfect for day to day use. I work in construction though so I am planning to use my other watch when it comes from Japan. Did you know you can sign into Amazon Japan's page and find casios that you only get in Japan? I am someone who would encourage you to buy this watch. It's got world time features and does all you expect from a Casio. But but some more. And if you have a wife with a mountainous collection of shoes and handbags, then you need a collection of watches too. If you are starting, this is a nice place to begin. Low cost, good quality watches are casios big seller. Then you might want to get a Seiko 5 and perhaps a G-Shock. Start watching Ben's watch club on YouTube and go from there. Oh there is also a gorgeous titanium Lorus I can recommend. Lol

Body has broken, only 5 months old!
Very disappointed. I've had Casio watches for decades, but this one is poorly made. No, I didn't drop it - just normal daily wear. Made from poor quality material.

The strap is comfortable and on your wrist it actually looks much more expensive than it is.
Casio Men's AW80-1AV Forester Ana-Digi Databank 10-Year Battery Watch – what a bargain for under £30. Love this watch. It looks good, is easy to use and the cost is just the job. The strap is comfortable and on your wrist it actually looks much more expensive than it is.

The watch is gorgeous, completely functional, especially if you need to know a timezone in another country, alarm was also loud enough that it’s a great alternative to an alarm clock or a mobile phone. Face looks vintage, water resistance is tried and tested on warm and cold waters for periods of time, strap is quality and so is the watch overall. This is a great watch for active people that goes to the gym or plays contact sports, travelers, backpackers, and hikers. I would just say though that the alarm snoozes a few times after the first alarm, and it’s confusing to turn it off. The loop of the band is kinf of inconvenient to use as well since it’s hard for the band to get over it. But still, five stars. Looking foreward for casio to release more watches in this price range on amazon, especially leather dress ones.
