Because serial is not exactly current technology it can be difficult to tell both what type of cable you need and what type of cable you are buying. Sellers don't know the difference and even if things are properly labeled the terminology and jargon might as well be hieroglyphics at this point. After purchasing the wrong ones, and buying the "right ones" but receiving completely different mislabeled cables, this item allowed me to get my DB9 - DB25 Epson Thermal Printers working. I still don't know exactly which cables I purchased or which I needed, but these fixed the issue regardless.

Worked great and was very inexpensive

These are awesome. The screws can be removed without them falling apart so I can plug them directly into my cable and into the device I am connecting to. My only complaint is that they came in a 2-pack with the same genders. I don't need 2 of the same thing. 1 of each type would have been more useful to me. Male to male, female to female and male to female in one kit would have been perfect.

Used this with a Ugreen USB to RS232 serial adapter because I needed a null modem crossover to make the computer interface to my laser engraver. Works great while not adding excess length and weight.

These worked perfectly for my application. They arrived promptly, which is important now that we don't have a local store like Radio Shack to go to and get them.

As advertised, quick delivery

Having been born in 94, I had never heard of null modem communication. Suddenly, the place I work for needs to start testing RF cables. They bought me an older piece of equipment that can be interfaced with via an "RS232" appearing port. Grabbed my trusty usb to serial cable. Couldn't get anything. Took a week of emails back a forth with the OEM to figure out I need a "null modem cable" to plug my cable into first. ANYWAYYY, this fixed everything after having to run software on a virtual box. I assume that means this works perfectly for whatever it is this adapter is for. 11/10 still have no idea what null modem communication is but I'm impressed.

I ended up buying these adapters to correct a driver problem on my laptop, it sounds strange but that's how it happened, I read in a forum that someone had the same problem as me, the PC did not recognize the RS232 cable and the solution was to buy this adapter just so corrected the problem.

Ordered the wrong adapters, my fault, got caught by terminology. I ordered M/F I needed F/F. Sent in another order. I am happy to add to my toolbox, I do a lot of serial device connectivity. Good solid product, for a simple device.

Pretty straightforward adapter that works. Just ensure that you confirm whether you need “Straight” or “Dull Modem” which reverses the wiring.
