Almost perfect
Let me start by saying this is an excellent humidifier! It does an incredible job of keeping my ~1,000 sqft. 2BR apartment humidified. I'm extremely satisfied with how effectively it will humidify my place that can get as low as 15-20% without humidification. Now, the area for improvement: The improvement could really come from Auto Mode on the Vesync app and how it integrates with the smart features of the humidifier. An unfortunate flaw with the Auto Mode is that it does not allow you to select your own preferred humidity level. It has 2 settings (home and away). The humidity level of these settings are dependent on the ambient temperature in the room as read by the humidifier, which always is about 5F degrees lower (most likely because wherever the sensor is on the unit is being influenced by the damp cooler air coming out of the machine). In my opinion, this falsely causes the humidifier to run at the 60% humidity level on the "home" setting for Auto or 55% setting for "away." Personally, that's a bit more humidity than I'd like to have in my place with nighttime outside temps in the teens Fahrenheit already in December. It just causes too much condensation on the windows. I'd prefer that I could manually "set it and forget it" on the Auto Mode at 50% and minimize the window condensation. By no means is this a deal breaker, but it's definitely an area of improvement the app developers should do to the auto mode where it's selectable by the user instead of having default humidity levels based off the incorrect ambient temperature. I have reached out to the company to see if this is something their developers could work on, so hopefully they'll be open to the feedback. Looking at some of the few reviews that there are so far, it seems like there are others that share my thoughts. The app and humidifier do have a function where you can manually select the humidity level you'd prefer and it will maintain that level. I'd liken this to a hybrid manual/auto mode. The only caveat here is that you have to set your own fan speed and it's either on or off. It doesn't cycle through lower or higher speeds to just maintain your desired humidity level like an auto mode would. I've found myself using this feature since the auto mode is just unreliable with the temperature readings influencing the auto humidity levels defaulted by the software. My Levoit 300S humidifier's auto mode setting is perfect from the Vesync app, so I'm hoping the developers will create an option for a user-selected auto mode and then the 6000S will be perfect. I still rated it 5 stars because it does everything it's designed to do extremely well. The manual does say that Auto Mode will maintain 50% if not connected to the Vesync app (which would solve all my auto-mode woes because all I want to do is set the thing to 50%) but I'm a bit of a tech geek and love data, so I'd prefer to keep the capability of monitoring everything remotely while I'm away just to ensure everything's working correctly. For anyone who made it this far in my review, don't let what I've mentioned discourage you from buying the unit. I think this could be a pretty simple software/firmware fix if it were something enough people requested and found to be somewhat problematic with the current app and humidifier settings. Even despite the auto mode issues, the app and unit itself has tons of functionality that really make it a great product! Albeit a bit expensive, but I have faith it will last quite a long time. Seems to be well-built, overall and I have not have had any leakage issues like some others have mentioned in their reviews.

6 MONTHS UPDATE. Arizona approved. It works.
6 months update: I have had this for 6 months now and still very pleased with it. Added below a few things that worth mentioning: 1. No issues with the pump. Works just fine. 2. The water dripping noise is indeed something that happens, especially when the water level drops below half way. Doesn’t happen all the time but it does happen. If you have it in your room and you’re a light sleeper, it can be annoying. The way I fix this is by refilling the tank all the way up. I’ll try to experiment with other solutions and report back. A tip regarding reusing the wicks/filters - Every 2-3 months, they get a good amount of salt/calcium deposits on them, as expected. I have been able to reuse them by putting them in a descaler solution for an hour or so to break the salts, and then I wash them thoroughly. They look like brand new! Overall still very happy with it. Would recommend. 2 month update: Without the AC running in the house, the humidity is consistently higher compared to when we had to have the AC on. What has worked better for me is keeping the humidifier on low speed 24/7. It keeps the living room/dining room humidity between 55-62% and only have to refill the tank once every 3 days. Also, the pump is less noisy while on low speed. I think during the summer, with the AC on, having a more consistent humidity will be more difficult so keeping it on low 24/7 might not work then and I’ll probably switch to the auto function. Original review: No one paid me to write this review. I bought this to increase the humidity in our 1700sq ft house. And it did exactly that. It has a huge tank that can last you more than 2 days if you use the Auto Shut off function. If you keep the fan on high, it usually lasts slightly over a day. I’ve used it non-stop for 3 weeks now and there are my comments: Pros -Huge tank, easy to fill using the adaptable hose that comes with it (attaches pretty much to any faucet) -Brings the humidity up to 50-55% quickly and maintains it there without issues. -Even at high speed, the fan is not that loud. You can hear it but it’s not really bothersome to me (kinda like white noise). At low speed you can’t really hear it and at medium speed is barely noticeable. -Very easy to clean and maintain -Has wheels at the bottom so you move it from one room to another pretty easily -You can use wifi to turn on/off, adjust the humidity while away from the house -If it runs low on water, it automatically runs until the filters/wicks dry out so that they don’t get moldy -I haven’t noticed any filter discoloration or anything like that. The filters do eventually have salts on them, which is to be expected if you’re using tap water that is not that soft. Having said that, the machine comes with a small brush that helps clean those off. -The lights can turn off completely. Cons -The price point can be prohibitive for some people. It goes on sale sometimes for $200 (from $250). -Every now and then, the pump turns on to bring water from the tank up to the filters. That can be a bit noisy but it lasts for less than 10 seconds. If you’re sleeping at night and you have this in your room, turn the auto shut off function on (or sleep mode if you want). This machine can easily keep the humidity in a room 60-65% (maybe even more) without needing to run very often, thus decreasing any type of noise considerably. I will update this review after a few more weeks of use.

Great humidifier for large rooms
I’ve been very happy with the Levoit Superior 6000S overall. The build quality of the humidifier itself is excellent — it feels sturdy, well-designed, and premium compared to many other units I’ve used. Setup was easy, and the Wi-Fi connectivity works smoothly, allowing full control through the mobile app, which is very convenient for adjusting settings remotely. Performance has been solid, and it does a great job maintaining humidity levels. Where it loses one star for me is the filters — they feel somewhat flimsy for the price, and replacements are quite expensive, which adds to long-term ownership costs. That said, I want to highlight Levoit’s customer service, especially Doms, who was outstanding. When my original unit developed a small crack on the rim of the water tank, they handled the issue professionally and sent me a brand-new replacement humidifier without hassle. Overall, this is a high-quality smart humidifier with great performance and excellent customer support. If Levoit improves the durability and pricing of the filters, it would easily be a 5-star product.

I've been using this product (Levoit Evaporative Humidifier Superior6000S) for 10-days and I am impressed. It has helped considerably with my humidity problem and the smart feature is fantastic. It is quiet, it holds tons of water and it performs the way it is supposed to.

This is my second winter using this, and I love it. Generally it does all the things you'd want in a humidifier - humidifies large areas without dribbling all over the place, does NOT put white dust on things, has some nice features. Here's some things to know, but they are not dealbreakers for me because I don't think you can avoid them: It's heavy to move after you fill it - the wheels can't handle the weigh very well, so I just shuffle it along. There is a tube to fill it with but my shower head can just reach it outside the tub, so I haven't used the tube. It's relatively quiet, but when it goes into full blow mode it's noticeable. The 'keep at 50%' feature is good, but that is often too high for my condo (unless I want to mop the windowsills) so I keep it on the other button at 40% or 45%. Sometimes it wakes up and goes back to that level a couple of hours later, but sometimes I need to quickly switch it on and off (an instant action without bending down) to 'wake it up'. Again, this is fine for me because I don't want it continually coming on and making things too wet. The feature where you can run it in dry mode to dry out the filters if you're going away for a day or so is great - I don't always want to empty / disassemble it for just a short absence. Filters that come with it are very good. Last winter I used the same ones for 4 months but they were getting a bit stinky by the end (I rinse them every week or two), so I think this year I'll change after 2.5 months and use two sets over the LONG 5 months of Ontario winter... Also the reading of the humidity level is consistent with what my Nest thermostats say, so either it is accurate or both are equally inaccurate :-)

The fan runs but the unit can’t draw water from the tank at all. I’ve tried every troubleshooting step — reseating the tank, soaking the wick, cleaning the base — nothing helps. The tank has no valve and the base never gets water, so it stops after a few minutes with an error. I like Levoit products, but this one seems to have a design issue. I really hope customer support can provide a fix or replacement.

Updated review at January 3, 2024: After almost 1 month of constant 24/7 use of my 6 Gallon LEVOIT Smart Evaporative Humidifier for up to 3000ft², I learned from the company I purchase this machine’s filters from that the discolouration - even after just 24 hours of use - is totally normal and an expected result of filtering out impurities in the water used. So that’s a relief that it’s not growing algae on the filters. Actually, after using 100% distilled water in my humidifier for this past month since that first fill of municipal tap-water, the filters have not shown any further discolouration. So no doubt the distilled water will likely extend the life of the filters, and possibly the machine as well. But….after a cost-analysis of using Distilled Water vs, tap water in this humidifier, it’s more cost effective and practical to just use tap water. It would cost me $1,700 per year in Distilled Water (as the machine is averaging 32 Litres per week). So even if using tap water in the humidifier cause more wear and tear and build-up resulting in (worst case scenario) needing to replace the filters monthly (at $107.26 CAD including taxes and delivery) and yearly replacement of the humidifier at $346.50 CAD (includes taxes and free delivery), I’d still save $70/year and wouldn’t have to haul all the jugs of Distilled Water to use in the humidifier! So I feel it’s economically worth the risk to use tap water in this humidifier, and if I can stretch the rate of filter and machine replacement, I’ll save even more money yearly. I’ll update this review if I learn anything further. For now I’m extremely happy with my cute little robot-looking Humidifier I’ve named “Robbie”, haha! ——- My original review: My 6 Gallon LEVOIT Smart Evaporative Humidifier for up to 3000ft² is already growing algae on the evaporative filter media after only 24 hours of use of this brand new machine. The humidifier was delivered by Amazon at 3:30pm December 8, 2023. I immediately unpackaged, filled it with tap-water as instructed and started it on the highest speed to see how long it could boost my humidity levels from their current 10% in my home and to see how it performs after going through a full tank of water. We’ll it sure does humidify the air really well in my 1100 square foot residence. Within just 3 hours my humidity went from 10% to 35% (I am using a separate hygrometer to determine the accuracy of the actual humidifier’s humidity gauge which does appear to be very accurate after 1 day of use at least). After 8 hours it was up to 58% humidity. It used a full tank of water (21 Litres/6 Gallons) in 24 hours of use on the highest speed by 4pm December 9, 2023. When I went to refill it, I had a good look at the evaporative filter media and it is already turning green in spots and the residual water at the bottom of the humidifier’s tank was very visibly yellow in colour. My municipal water in my city is among the very best quality water in the world (I live I Edmonton, Alberta Canada and we have award-winning water quality…and I work with water quality specialists who have confirmed this), so I observed the water was clean and clear going into the humidifier. I have since opted to fill the humidifier this time with 100% distilled water and I’ll see if it makes any difference to the algae growth I’m seeing on the filter. I bought this evaporative humidifier because of its claims to produce healthier humidified air as the filter is not sitting directly in water all the time - instead water flows across the filter and evaporates so the filter shouldn’t be growing algae - especially within just 24 hours of use! I’ll update my review when I’ve had a chance to determine if the distilled water is solving the algae growth issue with this humidifier’s filter.
