AMAZING!!!! Best nail treatment out there.
I've tried many clear and nail growth polishes in the past but they have all fallen below par. Be it they took too long to dry and were sticky (I'm too impatient to wait for nail varnish to dry) or they would flake/chip off, or just not actually work. My nails would hardly have grown any longer than they would have without the nail treatments and were still very weak. However this product truly is magic. It has an extra long wand and goes on so easy, it doesn't weep over the sides of your nails, dries really quick and isn't sticky, doesn't look too shiny, strengthens your nails incredibly (I haven't had a break or chip in months) and they actually grow really nicely and quickly. I apply it, leave it on for two weeks, wipe off with nail varnish remover, file and buff my nails and then re apply for another 2 weeks. It is perfect. No need for fake nails ever again!

Excellent product
I've used this product for a good number of years & it really is the best out there. I apply two thin coats & reapply once a week. It can be used alone, giving a very natural looking, slightly glossy look or under coloured nail polish. When I go to the salon to get my nails done professionally the nail stylist always comments how strong & healthy my nsiks are!!

Only nail hardener I've used that works
I've been using this for 2 months now, I will admit for the first month your nails do still break easily and stay very weak (mine were damaged from using UV gel on my natural nails for months). But since my nails have now started growing out, they're a lot more stronger and aren't as flexible anymore. They're not much longer than before I started using it but they're definitely more healthy and stronger.

My aunt used to wear this in the 80s and she had *talons* - she carried this with her everywhere. After this particularly long and dry and never-ending winter, with many a broken nail and rough cuticle, I went looking for a nail hardener and was surprised they still make this. Same bottle and everything. I decided to go for it, despite the fact that the chemicals in this are not great for you! I try to be an all-natural girlie; however, at middle age, I figure it would take a while for this to kill me, and I won't use it forever so I went for it. The toxic chemical smell is A LOT - it's basically embalming fluid - so I'd go outside to put this on. No amount of ventilation helps except being all the way outside. Even then, it's overpowering. After a while, as with all things, I kind of got used to it, though. What can I say? It works. The length they are now is pretty much the limit I can handle and at this length they always start to fray or crack or break. I keep expecting them to break. But they don't. Want to especially shout out the reviewer who mentioned specifically that some nails might continue to break or peel over the initial period of two months because that's what happened for me with a couple nails and I was ready to give up. I didn't, of course. Now my nails are strong - not hard, as I'd imagined they'd be after essentially being embalmed, but bendy-strong. Whereas before if I hit one against something or bent it, it would crack or break, now it just bends. Also want to reiterate what another reviewer said about getting it on your skin. Again: embalming fluid - so I did have some hard skin around my nails at certain points but it's not permanent. Wish I had a before picture but you can see the after photos here. It actually works really well as a base coat. It's not the smoothest on its own but the polish and top coat fill in any ridges and my red nails ended up surviving a million dishes plus a major house cleaning, and two massive days of laundry - the winter to summer transition - and didn't even chip for at least 5-6 days, which is unusual for what I put my hands through. I usually see chips after 2 days. Now that I'm past the initial two months period of use they advise, I'll keep it on hand for polish days.

Okay, I really am not one of those folks to be an infomercial reviewer and be all woooo greatest thing since sliced bread join my pyramid, drink the kool-aid and buy buy buy.... But yeah, this stuff does work, I mean its not reinventing the wheel working, I'm not going to have guiness record breaking long nails from it. But the added castor oil works as a decent conditioner and antifungal, which sets it apart from some of the other hardeners that are really just clear nail polish. And that might be why some folks giving it terrible reviews saying oh gosh it burns it burns!!!!! Are talking about because if you do have a mild fungal infection going on (exceptionally common and highly likely especially if your nails are splitting, cracking and flaking) it will give a burning sensation when applied. And will continue to do so until your infection clears. And nails are of course the hottest spot on your body for fungi to vacation at, so really super super common, most people get them and never even know, want to know if it will burn anymore than the alcohol in regular nail polish, get some castor oil first and dip your fingers in it. And with that said, yes I could soak my fingers in some castor oil every night to get about the same result, but then I would have to soak my fingers in castor oil every night (ick) so this works out wonderfully. A bit of a polish smell, and it very mildly burning some when applied the first time or two (on par with the same reaction I have to plain old nail polish) and my nails are looking miles away better and have finally stopped tearing off at the start of the nailbed and being so thin you can look through them. So there's my drink the Kool aid speech. Its a good product that does what it says it will do, and for the people freaking out about embalming fluid being in it, hope you don't drink too many fruit juices as most of them include pear juice the very source of embalming fluid \(0○0)/ oh no!!!!! And if it doesn't have the ca 65 nonsense on the packaging guess what it means that the levels are well within safety limits just like the bottle of ocean spray cranberry juices. So there's my ploy to see if Californians will put ca 65 warning labels on pears next :}

I've been using this Nail Magic Strengthener for a couple years now. I first bought it at a drugstore for $20 and did NOT feel ripped off after seeing the results. $7.29 for a 0.25 oz bottle is a decent price. I'm a fan of this product, but that comes with a LOT of caveats. First, this product will only help if WEAK nails are your issue. That means your nails are too bendy. If BRITTLE nails are your problem, Nail Magic will make it worse! Google around for tips on diagnosing between one or the other. Second, yes, this product uses FORMALDEHYDE to make your nails harder. There's nothing natural or holistic about it. Think of how formaldehyde is used to help preserve things, right? Well, it preserves your nails, too. It can also cause a lot of issues. I'm personally sensitive to formaldehyde, so I'm careful to only apply it in well-ventilated areas, which is a good idea with all nail polishes anyway. I even wear a painter's respirator if my airways are particularly cranky that day. Third, it's recommended to apply this every other day, but I disagree - that dries out my nails way too much and makes them BRITTLE rather than strong. I've found just one or or two applications gives me OVER A MONTH of results. Long after the polish itself has flaked off (it does that) the formaldehyde remains in the nail itself and they will continue to grow out to scary lengths! I once neglected my nails for a few weeks and then ended up filing them all to claw points, they were so long. Before I found this product, my nails always split off before I could get any length at all. Now, my friends ask me what my secret is! I wish that was the end of the negative factors, but alas. This stuff also STAINS your nails if you use it too often. It makes the whites turn yellow and the pink nail beds a pale purple color instead. Not cool. The stain grows out, but doesn't look good. I was determined to find a solution, and eventually I did - by reducing how often I apply it to about once a month or so and following up with Zeva Nail Bright the staining is no longer an issue. And one last thing: if you get ANY of it on your cuticles it will dry them up so bad you will be kicking yourself. I strongly advise you err on the side of not completely covering the nail than risk your precious cuticles. I've found even if I wipe it off right away, the damage is already done and I have to live with it for WEEKS. The weird thing is, despite all the negative side effects of this product, IT GIVES ME RESULTS. And that's why I keep using it, buying it, and even have extra bottles stashed away "just in case". I'm willing to wear a respirator to apply it, I'm willing to use another product to mitigate the staining issue, I'm willing to risk my cuticles for it. Because it WORKS. Oh, and I almost forgot: you want these 0.25 oz bottles. This polish tends to get too thick by the time I'm nearing the end of the bottle; I can't imagine how much worse it would be with larger bottles that take even longer to go through!
