Honest Review from a mediocre player - It's awesome!!!
I started playing pickleball about a year ago, and coming from a tennis background, I expected the transition to be really easy. Clearly, I was wrong. Pickleball gameplay is quite different, and I had to learn about my play style to really improve. One thing I noted was that the paddles that I had at my disposal were not the best to help improve my ball control and shot placement. The very first time I played was at the YMCA and they had these horrible wooded paddles. There was no forgiveness, the sound was horrible, and it was all around a terrible experience. I decided to buy a set of Selkirk paddles for my girl and I to use recreationally, and wound up buying a beginner set priced under 100 dollars for a pair. These were a great improvement over the wooden paddles, had a nice surface to help with spin, and I used them for most of last year. As I got better at the game and began to play more competitively, I realized there were some inconsistencies with my shots. After doing some research, reading reviews, and handling some of the paddles at local sporting good stores, I held this one and decided to get it. The feel of this paddle is far superior to anything I've used to date. The grip is soft and has plenty of cushion so it feels great in my hand. The paddle is noticeably lighter than any other paddle I've used. The surface has a nice feel, gritty and helps me really get some top-spin on my serves and my backhand spin is awesome. I've definitely noticed a difference in the sweet spot and my ability to control my shots with this. The mid-range paddles seemed to have a smaller sweet spot and I would often overpower the shot. If I hit off center enough, the older paddles had a noticeable thud sound and the ball just died. With this one, the sound is consistent just about anywhere you hit the ball (on the surface of the paddle) and I've had less shots go out past the opponent's baseline. It's also better on dinks at the kitchen line as I'm not lofting it up over the net as much. For anyone who plays often, or is looking to improve control, I feel like this is the way to go. Invest in a good paddle and reap the benefits of the design. I've only had it a couple weeks, so I can't comment on the surface of the paddle and how it will hold up, only time will tell. And the best part was that Amazon had it for 50 bucks less than other places, so it was a no-brainer once I knew I was looking to invest in a new paddle.

Perfect Paddle
Quality of Selkirk paddles is exceptional. This is my third model. Purchased because I have been having hand/wrist issues and needed the 'softest' paddle I could find. After contacting Selkirk customer service they suggested this one. It has been a good choice. Shape is great, handle length is perfect for this paddle. Grit on the face allows good spin. The design is for control, not power. At $150 I think it was a bargain considering they offer lifetime warranties and it is made in USA. It is a lot of fun to play with and has improved my game and reduced shock/vibration to my hand. I can recommend this paddle especially if you need to dampen vibration and want more control. FYI, I added the black protection tape on the top edge you see in the pic as this is an edgeless paddle.

Great paddle
I've played pickleball for 5 years or so and typically play 2-3 times a week. I've used many different brands of paddle over the years, but this is by far my favorite. I love the control and the amount of spin I can put on the ball. Definitely elevated my game. It's pricy, but worth it.

Great paddle for an intermediate player!
Pros: Balanced feel, very consistent and forgiving, no edge guard, good spin Cons: Moderate power I recently purchased this paddle to replace a JOOLA Hyperion. I needed something that was more consistent and boy did I find it! My game improved noticeably by simply switching paddles and I am hitting much more consistent and accurate shots. You definitely sacrifice some power but gaining the control is well worth it. Highly recommended!

Great for control.
Great control paddle, but does not have a lot of power. Still a good paddle overall.

Paddle surface is awesome, great for tennis players!
Feels great, has made a big difference in my play which I was surprised by... paddle has a grit to it that even allows me as a tennis player to put some spin on the ball if I hit it right.
