The motor/base was fine. The original pitcher eventually crashed after years of heavy use. I bought another off Amazon and loved it for years. But kids put it in the dishwasher (which was supposed to be fine) and it warped. Still it functioned so we kept using it. The coating underneath near the gear slowly chipped off which I hated, not wanting any to end up in the food.
