If you have high speed internet and do any sort of wired backhaul to your wifi routers, you need this. Most cheapo switches use a 1GB backplane to drive their ports, and I had no idea just how much of a restriction that places on network performance. I used to have a lot more devices hardwired, but I recently moved my study and now most of my devices are using wifi. File transfers were nigh unusable. But after adding this (and another high backplane switch) to my network, I am seeing excellent throughput and performance overall.

Works flawlessly seamless easy instillation

Plugged in between my primary eero 6 and 4 other eero across the house. Stable connection and reliable speed. Placed in a fairly ventilated closet. So the blinking lights are not a bother.

This is a plug and play device so not much to say except that it's working fine so far and able to negotiate the advertised speed. It's a bit pricy, but I couldn't find any other 8+ port 1Gbe switches with a dedicated 10Gbe uplink. Build quality feels solid, and of course it's completely silent since it has no fans.

I was curious about why so many audiophiles choose the Netgear switch for their streaming devices and now I know. I have been using an inexpensive Yuanley YS25-0502 switch and it was performing fine, but when I swapped the switch with the Netgear GS108X, the soundstage really opened up. Timbre was more natural and smooth with improved inner detail. Considering the Netgear is still an inexpensive switch, it is highly recommended. A good quality 12v power supply is a must however.
