Principality Of Zeon Zaku Early Type
This is the Zaku early type one of the first mobile suits produced by the principality of Zeon and noted for successfully containing a minovski-particle reactor inside, these mobile suits were then replaced by the Zaku II when their manufacture stopped in the U.C 77. The model is simple to put together and arrives with easy instructions ( you do not need to read Japanese), but i suggest if you want your model to look nice and stand out i would invest in some side cutters , a hobby knife, some sand paper (high grit count 1000-2500) and a micron pen 0.5mm for panel lining. Painting the model and customising is optional as it comes pre coloured but it would be a good choice for those looking to practice technique or try customising something a little bit different. The model is great and was enjoyable to assemble, the only reason it has the 4 star review is that the Blue on the model is very strong and could of been a little more subtle like it is seen in the advertisement. A small note to add when buying the Gunpla models they never look like their pictures, however I have done a few reviews on a selection of models so if you wish to see the models for what they actually are feel free to read them.

Welcome to my newest batch of Gunpla! HGUC ZAKU I I'll admit it: I had really high hopes for this one. Ever since I've seen the Zaku I (AKA Old Zaku) in the Gundam anime, I knew that I would love the design. It is simpler than the Zaku II, but it the simplicity is the charm. I really like the fact that there are no pipes on the face or anything. The Gunpla is also incredible for this guy. Despite the fact that it was released in 2006 (meaning its "old" and "outdated), this is the most articulated Gunpla in my collection, with a main frame that's basically the Gundam's on steroids. The L joints used to swing out the arm for across the chest poses have been drastically expanded, allowing the Old Zaku to almost grab onto his other shoulder with no problem. A "chicken joint" is introduced to the neck, where a joint is now added to the base of the neck, allowing for the Gunpla's head to look downwards by scooting its neck forward in addition to the regular head joint. Furthermore, 180 degrees of articulation is achieved in the elbows, and while not as impressive, the 2 joints in the knees give the knee almost 135 degrees of movement. A big step up from the Gundam's stiff 90 degrees. Going on, the crazy Zaku ankles return from the depth of being used for the Zaku II, allowing the ankles to bend forward 180 degrees, as well as being pulled downwards for even more posing. Finally, a new head system is introduced with this Zaku, with a lever underneath the head that can be flipped to adjust the position of the Mono-Eye. While the effect only goes about 45 degrees from the center in either direction on this model, it is still incredible. Articulation on this guy just baffles me with how awesome it is. Things get even better with the accessories. First up is the Zaku machine gun. This isn't the same machine gun used by the Zaku II, but it still has the distinct barrel ammo cartridge and dual handles. However, with the Old Zaku's new articulation, a cohesive pose with the gun pointing forward can now be achieved! Yay! The next accessory is a knuckle shield and a Strum Faust. The shield is basically a handheld version of the Zaku II shield, but with spikes on the top, effectively making it a brass knuckle. A Strum Faust (handheld rocket launcher) is clipped onto the shield and can be removed. If you have another kit with a Strum Faust and clip, the shield can equip 2 at once. The Strum Faust can be held very well in the hand. Then, the Old Zaku comes with a standard Heat Hawk and holster, which loosely pegs into the hole on either of the side-skirts. As if it doesn't suck already, the Zaku can't even hold it. Its a piece of s***. Finally, the Old Zaku comes with a rocket launcher (as well as a separate trigger finger hand to hold it, so you don't need to break the hand in half every time you want to change weapons), a shoulder support, and a Commander's head fin, as well as an open palm for the famous "Shoulder Tackle" performed by Gadem's Zaku I. Overall, this kit is incredible for the time. Plenty of accessories and a kit that looks perfect straight out of the box. For $10, you can't go wrong.
