Saleem The Cat Learns to Say Alhamdulillah: An Inspirational Rhyming Islamic Story Book for Kids Ages 4-8

This book by Sameera Sajjad was a wonderful read for my kids. The language is simple, warm, and engaging, which made it easy for them to follow along and stay interested. I especially appreciated how the message was meaningful without feeling forced—it opened up great conversations with my children afterward. It has quickly become one of our favorite read-together books, and I would absolutely recommend it to other parents looking for positive, values-based stories to share with their kids.

Such a sweet book! My kids and I really enjoy reading this book, it’s great for early readers and the illustrations are so cute! The story is very cute, beautifully written, and teaches an important lesson. It is fun to read out loud to my 12 month old niece. The illustrations are beautiful. It is listed for kids 4-8, but this is one of the books my 12 month old niece loves for me to read to her. Unfortunately, since it’s not a cardboard book, good luck keeping this book from crumpling or staying in one piece with a kid under 2!!! For older kids this is not a problem. We loved the book so much, I ordered this and the Honesty book and both again for another niece and nephew in Europe!! I hope the author comes up with more stories with Saleem the cat.

Reading the book with my son is enjoyable because it is simple to understand and teaches children the value of ahamdulillah.

This book is such a gem. I picked it up hoping to add a little more Islamic learning into our nightly reading routine, and Saleem the Cat totally delivered. The rhymes are fun and easy to follow, and the message about gratitude—saying “Alhamdulillah” for all the little blessings—is beautifully woven into the story. My kids loves the illustrations (Saleem is adorable), and has started saying “Alhamdulillah” more often, which honestly warms my heart. It’s not preachy, just gentle and relatable. Perfect for young kids who are just starting to understand Islamic values.

Love this book! My daughter loves the Saleem collection. I don’t want the author to stop writing these books. Alhamdulillah

It's good reminder for kids. They easily forget these small Words with big impact in everyday life. The book has good images, lovely, Saleem is cute and text eeads easily.

I am not Muslim. I bought this book so my baby could be exposed to different ideas and cultures. We both loved reading it. She was captivated by the illustrations and the rhymes are so cute. Not too short not too long. 10/10 recommend.
