I finally used the onion Holder for slicing stuff. It was delivered on time on the weekend. By Tuesday I was curious and had a couple of tomatoes that were beyond their prime but I eat ‘em until they look moldy. I was surprised it took an extra effort to get the tines through the core but once they were seated the slicing was easy using a tomato knife. I noticed I didn’t have any cucumbers sliced for a salad so I washed and peeled one and inserted the Onion Holder. I used a ceramic cutting knife and it was very easygoing. There isn’t a lot of room between the tines, of course, so the blade scraped occasionally. Once the cuke was sliced I cut some of them in quarters and added them to the salad. Tasted great! I’m glad I bought this veggie holder. The quality of the tool is excellent and the workmanship is very sturdy. I think if the kids are going to use the tool they should be under supervision until they can handle knives properly. As I mentioned earlier, I was surprised it took an extra effort to get the tines through the core. It made me think that a younger child might struggle keeping the tool under control and hurt themselves if their balance became compromised. The Onion Holder is pretty useful, well made, and inexpensive. I think they’d make great gifts or stocking stuffers but not for an anniversary. Who wants kitchen gadgets for an anniversary? Get her something special that’s all about her. Flowers are always nice, maybe a Spa Day? Good luck!

Works well and does as stated. I've tried it with an onion (had to try that out). It worked and made that job much easier. Easy to use and clean.

Perfect slices great value grip could be better maybe made with silicone seems durable to me. Sliced my pickle and tomato. Washed easily and put away taking hardly any space
