They are curved perfectly to be attached to LED strips that have silicone on them. I would imagine they would still work with exposed LED strips since they are non-conductive but they definitely work better with the waterproof LEDs. My only gripe is that the screws are really short so if you're trying to drill into carpet like I was, you might run into issues with getting them drilled into the wood.
