Nice quality.
Purchased to use with my laptop this product does an admirable job of reducing stress on my Dragonfly Cobalt usb DAC. My most recent headphone purchase came with 1/4" plug, and it's fine for use with my tube amp or to plug into my home power amplifier, but it won't fit into the laptop. I wish that headphone manufacturers would return to the days when they terminated the cables with 1/8" mini plug(s) recessed inside the larger adapter! In using this adapter I just plug the lightweight mini plug into the Dragonfly and that's it. There is far less stress placed on the usb connection of the laptop than using a step down directly into the headphone jack. I have to use the DAC due to having high impedance headphones. It's an inexpensive solution which works well and I can highly recommend.

Good quality adapter
The adapter is well made and worked as described. The cable between the two sizes prevents strain to the socket.

Well made looks great, just the right length for my application.
The quality of both ends, and the wire looks substantial. It would have taken a lot of looking to find anything close to this in Brick and Mortar stores.

Does the job for a fair price!
Ok i am giving the item 5 stars since the item works exactly as it should. I do have a few wishes that would make it perfect item for me. I am using in on an LG v60 phone and i wanted to use my Grado PS500 but needed the adaptor. I use the phone primarily with Hifiman he400i and my cans for the phone but felt the urge to use a dynamic driver can sometimes. So i was planning on buying Grados adapter at almost double the price but reviews said item was stiff, so gave this a shot. Very happy with this adapter. Would i would call ideal is longer length to get it farther from phone and a 90 degree plug in instead on straight into the phone. The 90 degree would reduce the risk of hitting it and damaging item you have this plugged into at the time. So give me a 5 inch cable and 90 degree adaptor and i will buy it instantly.

Perfect for Smartphones with a Case
If you're like me, you have a smartphone that still has a 3.5mm audio jack on it. You may have also purchase a case that has a slightly larger cutout than the jack. The problem with this is that most adapters like this are big to accommodate the 1/4" plug and don't taper off enough to fit through the cutout in your case thereby making a clean connection. This little guy solves that problem as the protrusion at the end of the plug is narrow enough to fit into the cutout of the case and make a good connection. If the cutout on your case is still too small, you could easily fix that with a drill, if you are mechanically inclined. Other than that, the components are first rate and the build seems very solid with good strain relief on both ends.
