They won't last a lifetime if our experience is anything to go by but as cheap and effective lights for everyday city use they do the job really well. We've tried a number of the alternative and slightly cheaper offerings on the market and come back to these as the most cost-effective means of lighting our city bikes.Criticisms - the batteries can be fiddly to get out, the cover can be tricky to remove, and our experience in the past has been that after a few years the switching circuits are the weak point, probably a result of them getting water in and being used very heavily. At the price point these are at I think the switch failure is fair wear and tear and wouldn't mark them down on that basis. That everything is quite hard to disassemble sometimes has plus points in that I don't think I've ever had one of these lights fall apart in everyday use.The rear light in particular is a very good brightness for road use, shows up nicely in traffic. The front light is 'fair' for brightness - I couldn't really use it for seeing my way by on most of my commute, and I don't think it's a 'stand out' light in the mass of car headlights (I use a Hope Vision One for that), but it works well as my backup light for when the Hope suddenly runs out of power and switches off! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cheap, but seems pretty good *by T***K on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 March 2015* Bought these for my bike to be seen at night when cycling around streets in London. They provide enough illumination in order to be well seen and have three modes - flashing, strobing and constant on. But please, please, if you're going to use them keep them constantly on - flashing is so annoying especially if I'm riding behind you.....Anyway, they work well and are cheap enough that I'm not too worried about them. However, it is pretty important to realise they're pretty cheap and the front would probably come off quite easily so I'd probably stick to roads/smoother surfaces if using these. They're super easy to remove so great for my short city rides. I'd probably invest in something a bit better for the front if there was limited street lighting or you want to actually illuminate the area ahead. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good but flawed. *by S***E on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 August 2013* The lights themselves seem to work well enough but the front mounting bracket was not suitable for my bike, which has an oversize handlebar. I could not mount it on the narrow part of the handlebar as the release tab coincided with the gear shifter. This could probably be trimmed but I rode the bike with the light improperly mounted and it fell off, which was annoying! Also, the release tab on the rear light can interfere with other stuff on the seat post, such as a lock mounting bracket.
