Great value, works with ONVIF
Am happy with what it does for the price. It's not perfect. Three minor gripes I have because my plan was to use this with an ONVIF compatible DVR on my NAS. 1.) Not all configuration can be done via ONVIF (in fact it is very basic.) Which means 2) You must use the mobile app to configure the settings and 3) Once it is configured to be used in your 3rd party program, the mobile app is forever locked out. Only a factory reset will give the app access back to the camera. Which means that if you link this to you DVR without ALL settings correct, you can't fix most of them. This is the voice of experience talking. I learned the hard way. It was frustrating but I was able to get past it, and it was essentially a one-time problem. But I really hate having to install apps for one-time configurations. I use this outside to monitor a porch and it works in both day and night mode there.

"Person detected" doesn't work well
I've installed this above the front door in the porch eaves pointing at the door. It is slightly higher than recommended probably about 9 feet instead of 8, but still the correct distance away. I've had it for 2 days. I was very excited to use the "person detected" feature where it sends a push notification and saves video to the cloud when a person comes into view. Today I had a delivery person leave a package, and a very very large/tall person knock, stand around waiting, and then put a flyer on my door - yet no notification no video of either. I do receive plenty of 'person detected' notifications and videos of nothing. I haven't tried troubleshooting yet. I'll update if I have success. Also, the swivel ball joints which allow you to position it were a little difficult, they want to slip. I did manage to get them in a fixed position using a needle nose to tighten it down.

Good prodiuct
Easy to set up. I have 7 d-link cameras all outside and they work very well. Very happy with their performance.

The best D-link camera...and I have had them all...read on.
What is really good: - High fidelity - Definately waterproof - Excellent night vision - Reasonable motion detection - Reasonable and improved set-up (for D-Link...good job) Be prepared for: - Needing 110 current outside - Be able to clean the lense once or twice a year for crystal clear if you do not have an overhang, - You will need strong MODERN high speed WIFI

wifi very unstable....NOT D link's best work for sure. Hate to say that too.
I have many D Link cameras and they work great with the Dlink App / cloud and connecting to wifi never an issue. Always big a big fan of D Link for home. Especially of the pan tilt indoor cameras which I actually use out side under my covered porches to protect from rain and other elements. Never had an issue over the past 5 years using them outside. Now this new outdoor camera I bought since it has a light, siren, and it's actually made for outdoors. I have a router in my garge 4 feet from device out side and the wifi signal still drops almost once a day. Almost impossible to reconnect to internet via app unless I go unplug it outside, plug back in, and then hit reconnect on phone app. Takes longer too locate camera on my network then my other cameras. Even standing right under it! Can't control pan, tilt or anything which I understood when I bought it of course but would be nice features for an outdoor camera. Hint Hint D Link. I have almost 2 acres and a 300 ft driveway. Can only see half way up driveway at night. Not complaining about that it is comparable to others. Only issue....why does the wifi drop??? I have two routers in the house, one in garge and even a range extender and still having issues staying connected. Frustrating....the indoor pan tilt cameras work better outside even though indoor cameras and cost $50 bucks less. If you have ethernet cable you can plug in directly to those. Just keep out of rain under porch or gutter. Anyhow....this outdoor cam doesn't have an ethernet cable hook up either so wifi only way to go. Really stinks not happy with camera so far. I'm going to use elsewhere on property see if any issues on connectivity and report back here shorty. Maybe it's the location I have it in but it's in a spot I had a pan tilt camera for many years with no issues. Just took that down to try this out. So far sorry I did.

Good camera but too slow to show you who’s at the back door in real time.
We get stuck “loading” live view half the time. If you get an alert, and the camera is recording, it takes extra long time to connect to the live view, sometimes it just times out. Makes it useless as a “greet someone at the door” unit. Can’t depend on it connecting in a timely manner. Night vision is excellent as is image quality. We have several dlink cameras (inside hockey puck model and the pan and tilt model). Well built. But all of them, even indoor models, have too much lag time connecting. Sept 2021 Update - upgraded wifi extender from TP Link model AC750 (RE220) to model AC1750 (RE450). Lag time has decreased significantly and have not had a "time out" trying to connect. So wifi signal strength is critical. Still keeping the three star rating as a weak wifi signal should have been anticipated for an "outdoor" camera. With the stronger signal it takes 3 seconds to get the alert and approx 8-10 seconds to "load" the live image. Acceptable but not great. And I don't know if units from other companies do better than that.

The camera comes well packaged and has an interesting design, though I wish the front panel were white as well to match the rest of the body. The unit is fairly large, with a built-in motion sensor and a bright spotlight. Setup is extremely simplified: you just install the mydlink app, give the camera a name, and enter your Wi-Fi password - there are no advanced settings and no web interface at all. It records to a microSD card up to 64 GB and supports only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Image quality is mediocre, which is expected from a 2020 model; the picture has a slight strobe effect and noticeable compression artifacts. The playback and archive search interface is quite unusual compared to most cameras, but it’s reasonably thought out for basic home use. The 7-meter cable is convenient. Overall, I’d say this camera deserves about 3 out of 5.

Nice camera for the price. Night vision is quite clear. Motion and sound detection are superb but annoying notification. To fix this you just need to remove the automation or switch on private mode to stop recording. Sound sensor is very sensitive. It records voices from our neighbour but distorted. Pan tilt mode is great but it records sound it makes when turning. Power adaptor, wire and camera are not getting hot/warm which is great because it will run 24/7. It offers free 1 day Storage but you can upgrade at reasonable prices. It will notify you if the unit is disconnected. The good thing is you don’t need a SD card to view your videos as long as you delete them from the cloud. The Mydlink app is user-friendly but you need a good internet connection.

I really like this camera and I feel more secure with the notifications sent when the camera detects noise and motion. Great camera!!!!
