Please be advised some of the receiver may say re-manufactured but all receiver come straight from Dish.

Review: Easy setup and activated without issue from Dish. - Received this unit 2 days before initial delivery window. Hooked it up to a new-to-me Winegard Playmaker, and the TV in our camper. The unit powered up, paired with the provided remote, and booted the Playmaker up. I chose my state from the drop-down, and within a few minutes the Playmaker had locked onto the 119, 110, and 129 satellites. Once the 'call for activation' message popped up on screen, I called the number and got a pleasant and helpful stateside rep who added this receiver to my existing account in about 10 minutes (including hold time). 5 minutes later I had all of my channels. I had a bit of reservation about this purchase based on some of the reviews about it (1) being a refurb and (2) Dish not wanting to activate it due to being linked to an existing account. I encounted NEITHER of these issues. The activation went perfectly, and I saw nothing on the Wally packaging that lead me to believe it was a refurbished unit. I'm looking forward to having this option in our camper, and the entire process couldn't have gone smoother.

**Q: is this the same thing as a vip211k?**
A: No, it's far superior to vip221k

**Q: Does this receiver work with kvh tv5?**
A: No idea where that is, but it works for our local channels.

**Q: Does this reciever work with a winegard carryout**
A: I use this with the carryout and it works perfectly, keep in mind that through trial and error I have found that you will need to keep the carryout connedted to the 12 volt power supply while using.  Also note that the screen may say it takes 5 minutes, no way it takes a lot longer, set it up and find something to do for at least 30 minutes.  When your done it works great on all channels.  :-)

**Q: Would this work with a 15 year old tv?**
A: The receiver connects to the tv via a HDMI cable or the old school right, white, and yellow plug type cables.  Look at the back of your tv.  I’m not sure if HDMI was around 15 years ago, but I am sure the tv has the old school inputs I mentioned.

Good value. This is the newer model Wall-E it comes with the new remote that you can talk to and it lights up. I attached an external USB drive for program storage which works very well. You can also plug in a USB wireless network adapter. The unit does 1080 P resolution HD. This Wally responds to changing channels very quickly. It is also very light weight.
