This new aftermarket printhead works great and saved my printer. I am very pleased so far.
So far, so good. The original print head in my HP Officejet Pro 8625 started acting up and ultimately, the printer stopped printing and the touch screen displayed an error message stating that the printer had failed. After diagnosing the issue and noticing that black ink was leaking from the print head, I concluded that I needed to either replace the printer or install a new print head. I first went shopping for a new printer, but everything I looked at appeared to be cheaply made and flimsy. The Officejet Pro 8625, on the other hand, is built like a tank, with a paper tray and document feeder similar in quality to those found on a $30,000 color laser printer. So I decided to take a chance and order an aftermarket print head with my fingers crossed. I am glad I did. After removing the failed original print head and spending about an hour cleaning black ink off of the print head carriage, I carefully installed the new aftermarket print head, which fit perfectly. After I did so, the printer display recommended a print head alignment and I touched the "button" on the display to proceed with the alignment. After several minutes, the printer output several pages, but all were blank. Next, I printed a diagnostics page twice, and both printouts were blank. (I was worried at that point!) Finally, I proceeded to clean the print head. The report on first cleaning also came out almost blank; but there were several extremely light pale blue images on the page that were so light that I couldn't decipher them. I assumed, however, that the light blue I saw on the page was from the preservative described on a sticker on the inner plastic box that protects the print head during shipping. That label reads as follows: "NOTE: The print head is filled with protective fluid. When opening the sealing cover, note the blue fluid. It is harmless. After installing and cleaning the print head twice, you can print normally." Based on that, I proceed to a second level cleaning. I then proceeded with a print head alignment followed by a linefeed calibration. Finally, I printed out a new print quality diagnostic page, the line feed calibration report and the “ABC” print quality page, and everything was perfect. I will update this review if the new print head fails in an unreasonably short time. Presently, however, I am very pleased with the quality of this replacement. Finally, when you replace the print head, I am pretty sure your printer display will give you the same message I received recommending a printhead alignment. DO NOT FOLLOW THAT RECOMMENDATION UNTIL AFTER YOU HAVE CLEANED THE NEW PRINT HEAD WITH BOTH A FIRST LEVEL AND SECOND LEVEL CLEAN. The reason for that is that in order to align the print head, the printer has to print and then "read" markings on a clean sheet of printer paper and as noted above, until you initially complete first and second level cleanings to clear out the protective blue fluid, the new print head won't print.

Worked Awesome - Follow the directions.
After I removed the plastic tubes inside, I missed that step, everything worked great even did a pdf color test on my Officejet 8610ng and it worked awesome. Thanks so I didn't have to waste money purchasing a new Officejet that didn't use all the ink I had purchased! Would be nice, if you offered a place to ship the old on so that can be refurbished for the next customer and a coupon or something for another device. Like a core charge for batteries :)

Fixed my 15 year old HP Printer
Replaced my HP8600 print head and now my printer works just fine. Printer indicated a problem with the Printhead and after checking the Internet i determined my printhead had failed. Found this product on Amazon and although I had to read the instructions twice, I was able to install the new replacement printhead. Printer works fine. Item was exactly as described, was shipped quickly and works great. The part cost as much as a replacement printer, but hopefully we will have use of this machine for many more years.

I do not recommend
It only prints with the light blue protective fluid. I installed with no error message. I have cleaned the printer head through all three levels multiple times, and the correctly installed ink cartridges do not feed through the print head, and yes, i removed the rubber plugs.

Works so far...
Installed this print head on my over 10 year old HP 8600. And although I still can't get it to align (tried many times using methods direct from HP website and other suggestions), it still prints. Weird. Not sure how, but it prints. Very slow, so I'm still working on improving speed. But at least it works. Saved me from buying a new printer, from getting stuck in the instant-ink subscription nightmare, and did not have to waste my new ink cartridges. Note: This is day 1. We shall see. But this seller offers returns, so hopefully if I have a problem, I can return it. Also: I got ink all over my pants from the new print head because I didn't realize you had to keep that side face up. My bad. Just be careful, go slow, read all instructions a few times. And read instructions online, too. Gives greater detail. Last: Pulling off the rubber covers to the connection points freaked me out. I thought I was going to break something. Had to use pliers on the last one. But all is well. Once again, read everything, be patient, trust the process. Followup: It's now been three months. Works perfectly.

Good value for very good printing quality
Very good quality printing with this item. No problems after 6 months in use. Installation wasn't as difficult as expected. It was a good value for the price.

I wasn't sure weather to buy a new printer or replace the printhead which was defective so I thought replacing the printhead was cheaper so I went that route. Big mistake it lasted about 6 weeks then failed error message is printer says there is no printhead recognized. So once again I took the wrong path. I have now purchased a new printer. Being cheap is very expensive. I should have bought a new printer before going through this ordeal. Disappointed..
