Patience and a Steady Hand...
I've always loved the look of doll houses and similar miniatures but the idea of actually doing it myself always terrified me! This is a great way to have a go without having to actually 'build' a miniature completely by yourself. The pre-cut wooden panels are intricately decorated and well labelled, all the little beads, wires and doohickies are well made and the clear pictures in the booklet make them easy to identify and you get spare/extra parts for some of the smaller bits, wire and the paper cut out sheets in case you make a mistake.I have very nearly finished putting it all together now - just the bedroom and dust cover left - and I have to say I've had a blast! For the most part the instructions are easy to understand (some slightly dodgy transactions but still readable), everything is very detailed and, for most items, you get the make the pieces rather than it just being a flat sticker or pre-made. Little disappointed by some of the artwork choices, a rug with 'Vintage Background' on it for example, but given you have spares for a lot of the paper items you can - and I have! - cut a spare to shape as a replacement for something you don't like. You definitely need some bits that don't come with the kit. A good craft glue, a craft knife, scissors, tweezers and a sturdy ruler are all definite must haves along with the title, patience and a steady hand.Highly recommended for those interested in this type of project.
