Included you’ll find a "Dura Base" with tip-resistant feet, providing stability on uneven surfaces. The “Dura Base” and lantern are designed to fit a 16.4-ounce disposable propane gas cylinder. In my experience there are a very reliable, economic 'cheap' way to have lighting in an emergency. This lantern can also hook up to a 5 gallon BBQ tank' using an extension hose. The lantern is plenty bright. If indoors always crack a window to the outside so Co2 build up. Stay safe.

Best to spend a few extra and get a multi mantle lantern. Something with a stand and case. But if your limited on space and can put this somewhere it dosent get broken it could still be a good buy.

A: No it does not. I have used the lantern a number of times since my purchase of it last year and I always hang the lantern when using it, so the lack of a base has never been an issue for me.

**Q: I have an old Montgomery Ward lantern with a broken globe --- would some measure the height and diameter on their globe?**
A: The outside diameter is 3 3/32" the height is 3 1/8" and the glass thickness is 3/32"
