The bottle inside opening measures 1.5 inches, the outer thread measurement is just over 2 inches, about 2 1/16 inches. **Q: Strong jalapeno flavor?** A: I wouldn't say strong, but rather a good balanced flavor. It is my favorite green sauce. Excellent on eggs and chicken! If in doubt, just buy a small 5oz bottle to try. You've probably noticed that your local grocer upcharges for the green sauce and it is prohibitively expensive for most of us. This large jar can be divided into smaller bottles and will save you tons of money over the long run. To prevent spoilage, either store the 1/2 gallon container in the fridge, or subdivide the container into 8-8oz bottles (fill to the brim). As long as you get rid of most of the air in the bottles, this sauce will last a long time on the shelf.
