## Description

The sporty, silver metal Game Boy Micro measures a mere 4 inches wide, 2 inches tall and 0.7 inches deep, allowing it to sit comfortably alongside today's hippest technological gadgets. It weighs an astonishing 2.8 ounces, or about the weight of 80 paper clips. Yet Game Boy Micro has the same processing power and plays the same games as Game Boy Advance SP models, complete with standard face controls and gleaming shoulder and Start/Select buttons that literally shine. With Game Boy Micro, everyone plays with style. A removable face plate gives owners the option to buy replacements to customize the look of their systems again and again with new colours and designs. Most notably, its 2-inch backlit screen shines with incredible power, rendering games in startling clarity with fantastic colours on the best Game Boy screen ever. For the first time, users can adjust the brightness of the screen to adapt to indoor lights or outdoor sunshine.

Review: Wonderful little machine! - What a nice little console! Very cute size that fits perfect in my hands (though it must be said I have quite small hands). The screen is great. It's backlit (ie. you can play in the dark) and everything looks colorful and crystal clear (despite the small size). The d-pad is close to being the best d-pad I've ever tried and the A/B buttons feel good and responsive (though slightly too loud). The shoulderbuttons and the start/select buttons are a bit hard to reach without shifting your grasp, but it's not a big problem. It seems to be of solid build quality, although the shoulder buttons, start/select buttons, the on/off switch and the volume up/down button look a bit cheap/tacky, with their "chrome" finish. Batterylife is nice and long. Been playing close to 10 hours and haven't needed a recharge yet. All and all, I've fallen a bit in love with the Micro. It's light and small, so you can easily bring it with you anywhere you go, and the screen and dpads makes it the best console to play your old GBA games. I've got a DS Lite as well and, although it has a larger screen, I find myself preferring this little cutie when I want to play my GBA games. What a shame I didn't get one when they were first released! A little thing to be noted. It uses a different powersupply than the DS Lite. I bought it without charger, as the plug looked identical on pictures, but a DS Lite plug doesn't fit!
Review: Great tiny console - The screen is so sharp that you can play games that were built for a larger screen without issues. It has a powerful backlit screen (it means that it glows and the brightness comes from the back) with a great resolution. It has the option of regulate the level of brightness pressing L + volume buttons. Bear in mind that it's only compatible with Gameboy Advance cartridges due to its size, but if you use something like Ez-flash or Everdrive you'll be able to emulate older games as well (Gameboy, Gameboy Color and even NES games). The battery lasts well still, I'd say up to 5 - 7h of uninterrupted use, probably more if the battery was new, but being a system 10 years old is not too bad. It has a special connector for charging, so you'll probably need to get a specific cable if it doesn't came with one. The case has a metallic feel and the overall finish of the console was made with lots of care. The start and select buttons glow blue when the console is charging and full of battery and will turn red when the battery is low. Shoulder buttons, start and select have a gloss aluminium finish. Out of a curiosity, the A and B buttons are in lowercase in this console. In definitive, it is a nice system for playing old games on the go if you can get one at a decent price.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does it come with a chager**
A: Hello, yes the standard box available in the UK came with a charger. Elsewhere on eBay, it's also possible to get a lead that charges directly from USB.

**Q: Does it use the same charger as the gba sp or any other console?**
A: No, the charger is specific. There are USB cable versions so getting one is not too expensive.

### ⭐ TOO SMALL !!!
*by K***E on 20 October 2006*

Playing this machine for longer than 20 minutes will make your eyes sore and give you cramps in your arms & thumbs. Any games which require quick reflexes are a total waste of time with this machine. Yes, the screen is very bright and clear compared to previous versions of the Game Boy Advance. But, the small size should not be mistaken for portability. This is badly designed in terms of ergonomics. Nintendo are yet again re-hashing old technology. Even if the Nintendo games are (apparently) of high quality and have hours of playability, experiencing this on a Game Boy Micro is very uncomfortable, toturous in fact. Buy a Sony PSP instead.
