This is a good case that wasn't super expensive, and it does the job. I don't worry about breaking my computer anymore when I set my backpack down. It has plenty of cushion to keep my computer safe. I can't say for certain if it is waterproof, but it is better than nothing if it were to rain. It is slightly thick, but it fits into the computer compartment of my bag with the laptop in it just fine.
