Dayton Audio RS100-4 4" Reference Full-Range Driver 4 Ohm

I'm using these in a smart speaker project and they are working out great. The sound is good. They aren't party speakers so don't expect booming bass out of them. Instead, pair them with a 4" passive radiator for the low end. These drive pretty loud and the mids are clear.

These are the best quality for price small full range speakers out there. I put them in folded Voigt pipes I built, and they surprise everyone with the quality and frequency range of their sound. Do make sure you note the exact measurements of the speakers as offered.

Good build quality

The Dayton Audio RS100-4 4" Reference Full-Range Driver definitely impressed me with its audio quality, but unfortunately the build quality did not meet my expectations, which ultimately led to me returning it. From a sound perspective, the driver performed very well. Audio was clear, detailed, and surprisingly full for a 4-inch driver. It had the kind of balanced sound that makes it easy to understand why Dayton Audio has a good reputation among DIY speaker builders. However, during testing, the wire connection tab broke off far too easily. That immediately raised concerns about long-term durability and overall construction quality. A component like that should be able to handle normal installation and testing without failing. It was disappointing because the sound quality itself was genuinely good, and I wanted to like the product. But when building custom audio projects, durability and confidence in the hardware matter just as much as sound performance. If audio quality is your only concern, these may impress you. But based on my experience, the physical build quality left enough doubt that I chose to return them instead of risking future issues in my build.

These are some of the best-sounding speakers I've ever purchased. I built my own gainclone amp and wanted something similarly nice but not extremely expensive as it's just computer speakers. I'm contemplating buying more and using them in my living room setup. They sound that good. In a vented box the size of a tissue box, they can easily handle enough to make the neighbors knock on your door and sound amazing while doing it.

Dayton Audio continue to amaze me, the RMS handling with this 3 way setup it’s clarity at its best, 5 stars and I will continue to purchase Dayton Audio for all future projects

I received this speaker and it falls right into a 4” speaker hole. It’s actually a 3” speaker and the outside rim measures 3 3/4” roughly . Cannot comment on sound. Build quality looks decent

These things are astonishing ... but please read the Dayton data sheet before you do anything. I always measure TS params and Dayton is one of the few manufacturers who provide numbers that agree with my measurements (within bounds of experimental accuracy, obvs.)

商品を見たときの印象は小さいな！でした。8cmサイズと変わらないぐらいです。 自作SPBOX5.1Lバスレフでダクト調整の結果は低域は50Hzぐらいまで再生します。 自作SPを50セット以上製作してきましたがこの商品は小ぶりながら自然な音質でなかなか良い一品です。 Dayton Audioは2作目ですがグーですね！ 良い商品を有難うございました。

Ho costruito una piccola cassa per pilotare il Kemper profiler e molti ridono quando vedono questo piccolo cono, salvo poi ricredersi quando sentono il notevole impatto sonoro e la quantità di bassi che riesce a tirar fuori.

Gute Qualität. Ich verwende diesen Breitbandlautsprecher als Mitteltöner an einer Frequenzweiche von Visaton.

Veramente un ottimo prodotto.Distorsione minima ,abbinato al box consigliato è molto lineare dai 100hz in su,l'ho comprato insieme al tweeter AMT della stessa casa e li ho tagliati intorno a 10khz per una risposta totale eccellente.Consigliatissimi entrambi
