Precise Rain Gauge with Mounting Bracket, Outdoor Rain Gauge Accurate to 1/100th of an Inch, Made of UV and Heat Resistant Polycarbonate Material for All Weather Conditions

I got this gauge for a friend after another friend got one for me. Here in Colorado rain is super precious and we treasure every drop. I have a small notebook where I keep daily records to compare year on year. My friend who I gave this gauge to has a vegetable farm so rainfall is paramount. This sort of gauge is THE ONLY ONE TO GET. All the others are lesser. It is easy to use and accurate. It will handly small amounts - I got 0.05" this morning - but it will also handle a hundred year storm and measure floodworthy quantities too. The plastic is strong and resilient and will stand the occasional drop. It is important to find a good mounting point away from tall obstructions like trees but somewhere you can easily see and monitor. I have mine on the remains of a basketball hoop post at eye height.

This is the perfect rain gauge for the backyard meteorologist. The price point is perfect, it measures accurately, it's a simple installation and will last a long time. I had to replace my original one after 10 years, only because it was completely opaque (Florida sun!) and i wanted the clear plastic again for a quick glance of rainfall.

For anyone that like more accurate rain gauge, this is great. The center gauge is in hundredths , the runs over to fill the outside. You measure the outside by pouring into the center gauge and emptying. Love it compared to the cheap ones that hold 4-6 inches with "approximate" tenths. A great present to the person who tracks rain.

Bought this to replace an identical lost unit. How do you lose it? By taking it down during intense summer heat, stashing it and not listing on “Where’s My Stuff?!?” file. (It is supposed to be UV resistant plastic— not sure I’ve seen plastic that will stand up to our sun…) The only improvement I can see is that the back slides might be offset 1/8” or so, so that the bottom slides engage into the bracket before the top slides do. Measurements over 1” require removing the large container from the mounting bracket. Oh, OH, a week after I put the new one up, guess what— yeah I spotted it sitting in plain view on my work bench— I’m still amazed at my incredible powers of observation…

At last! A rain gauge that I am happy with! Easy to read, and accurate to 1/100”. Definitely good value for money. I look forward to winter SWE with this too.

For the price, this is the best rain gauge I've seen. Accurate to 1/100th of an inch, easy mount, durable (should last 8-10 years).

I've bought these 20 years ago and they've added black numbers to make them easier to read. Excellent accurate rain gauge, measures to 10th of a millimeter and up to 275 mm, when the outter barrel is filled.

It's accuracy, ease of installation and quality have exceeded all expectations.

I would have preferred it to measure in metric but it was easy to install, works well, is easy to read and is very accurate.

I bought it to calibrate my weather station rain gauge. Its accuracy looks promising, and the plastic looks sturdy enough to last a few years.
