I ordered the formula for my new puppy, I was told he was 8 weeks, but he was 6 weeks. It seemed he still wanted to nurse. I ordered this because of the reviews and high ratings. Puppy loved it and he had a full tummy. Then my husband was walking our senior pup (15 years old) a larger neighborhood dog got away from his owner and grabbed our 12 lb senior pup by the neck and was shaking her. She ended up only needing stitches but she just wasn’t interested in food or water. When ended up syringing her water, then remembered the formula said it was good for senior dogs and dogs in recovery. We started syringing her the formula. Well she perked right up and really lapped it up. She is doing great now and is eating her regular meals and her new brothers leftovers. It is easy to use and it mixes up well, no lumps. It kinda smells like goats milk, but it does not say it has goats milk in it.

Came in handy for puppies. The reason for 4 stars is because of the smell. This product stinks.

It stirs and dissolves easily which is important because I am syringe feeding baby rats. This was recommended by my vet. They are now thriving and growing and putting on weight. I am also going to be giving this to pregnant mothers in the future. I highly recommend for small animals.

Bought this as a supplement for my 16 year old dog who needs to eat softened food and sometimes needs a little encouragement to eat. She has always been super lean & hard to keep weight on even in her youth- everything else was normal, and she ate like a horse, but always had a super fast metabolism. As she has gotten older, she has gradually lost muscle mass and I really have to consistently stay on top of her food/caloric intake in order to keep her at a healthy weight. I've tried other calorie supplements over the years; the sticky tube kind doesn't mix easily with her pre-moistened food, liquid supplements are too costly for what you get, and other powdered "performance" type formulas meant for adult working dogs are also WAY too expensive and many of them have added ingredients or nutrients that a senior dog who sleeps most of the day doesn't really need. It finally dawned on me a few years ago, to try using puppy milk formula powder as a supplement. And whaddya know, there's even a part on the label that says it can be given to adult dogs as a food additive. I've bottle fed plenty of puppies and I guess I never really read the directions past the "how to mix for puppy feeding" part. It's been working well and it is quite cost-effective also. Not long ago I decided to try a puppy colostrum formula for that little extra boost of nutrition/probiotics/etc....this was the best value I found on Amazon so this is the first brand I bought, and I have noticed a difference in my sweet old girl...shinier coat, better body condition, more energy/cognitive awareness, and she gobbles up her whole bowl of food every time. I'm glad a product like this has helped my beloved senior dog enjoy whatever time she has left.
