Revlon ColorSilk Tone + Gloss + Care Demi Permanent Hair Color, Dye Kit with Leave-In Scalp and Haircare Serum, 2x Shinier, 4x Stronger, 7 Dark Blonde, 4.5 fl oz

I LOVE this gloss/demi permanent dye. I have used in multiple times and here are my thoughts: COLOR: I have used it in dark brown, black brown, and black (pictured) on my naturally dark hair that was once highlighted. Personally, I feel like the black brown and dark brown shades both produce the same natural dark black hair color where the black color gives off more of a jet black color payoff. Additionally, these darker colors will stain your sink, shower, and skin so use precaution. Normally a little pumice stone scrubbing can get it to go away. Finally, I feel like the color does bleed a little between the initial application and first actual hair wash if you sweat, but I've never had problems with it staining pillow cases, sheets, or clothing. DURABILITY: While being marketed as a demi-permanent hair dye that maintains its color for up to 28 washes, I find that the darker colors I use last MUCH longer. I notice some color loss around month two post application and eventually reapply around the three month point. PROCESS: This kit is very easy to use. Mix, apply, wait, rinse/wash, condition and you're done! It is a very beginner friendly process. IRRITATION: I have very sensitive skin and this product causes no allergic reactions on my scalp, face, or neck which a big plus for me. I also like how this product does not seemingly damage my hair. RESULTS: My hair always comes out feeling so much shinier, much healthier, and more hydrated after the use of this product. Which is great in comparison to other products I have used that left it feeling dry and brittle. I have included before and after pictures as well as a picture of some staining on my skin after 24 hours of application/scrubbing.

I used this product yesterday to help disguise some of my grays and give my hair more of a shine. It was easy to use and only had to sit for 20 minutes, which is about 25 minutes less than typical boxed hair dyes. The result was a really even, darker, shiny tone on my hair. While my grays were not 100% covered, they are much more disguised and blend better with the rest of my hair. I am hoping that this product helps me avoid the "skunk stripe" as I grow out my grays. The leave-in conditioner and serum were both really nice and luxurious feeling. I will update this review if the product doesn't last the advertised 28 washes, but so far I am very happy with this.

Love this product! I got it in “6 light brown” for my first time ever using box dye, since it seemed to be the closest to my natural color. I originally got this product in order to do a gloss treatment and didn’t really care to change my hair color, but after seeing how it helped my ends blend to the same color as the rest of my hair I got so excited! My hair also feels so soft, and I don’t notice as many split ends (no judgement, I need a haircut). I have already reordered the product, but I have ordered the shade “5 medium brown” because I want to go a bit darker. Photos below are of the before and after using “6 light brown”

I was buying Revlon Color Silk Beautiful Color which is permanent dye. My hair is looking a bit fried and broken around my face. I decided to try Revlon Tone+Gloss+Care a demi-permanent. It is suppose to wash out after 28 washes. I usually purchased dark brown but decided to go with med brown. The demi dye left my hair darker, too dark, which is odd being a med brown. Maybe it to makeup for the gradual washout. The Gloss+Care was pretty worthless. Two small packages of product you put on after dyeing. The only thing they did was to make my scalp itch with a few little bumps. I can't say how long it will last as I only have washed once. It looked better after that first wash, got rid of the heavy oil conditioner/care stuff. Color held. Below is some AI research that I did that others might find useful. The Revlon hair gloss I bought worked amazingly well on my dark brown hair! It gave me the perfect red hue, rich, vibrant, and noticeable without being too bold. I was honestly surprised at how well it showed up on darker hair. The gloss left my hair feeling soft, shiny, and healthy, not dry or damaged like some color products. There was more than enough product in the bottle to fully cover my entire head, even with thick hair. It was easy to apply and rinsed out cleanly. Overall, it’s a fantastic, affordable option for adding a pop of color and shine!

Burgundy is PURPLE PURPLE PURPLE. Like, true purple. I used it on a copper red and there is no red left to see. It's a beautiful and rich color, but it also dried my hair out like crazy. I used a CER-100 treatment after a few days because I couldn't handle the crispy ends (after using leave in conditioner, argan oil, you name it, I've tried it. I also get my hair trimmed every 4-6 weeks). I hope the CER-100 works (my hair is still drying so too soon to tell). Overall, it does its job. Just make sure you're careful about the color and condition, condition, condition.

This gloss is awesome! It helps blend gray hair and get the new growth, while still leaving a nice red hue on the rest of the hair. I love that the ingredients are less harsh than standard boxed dye. This dye also leaves my hair super soft and healthy looking afterwards. I'd deff recommend if you're looking for hair dye that isn't too harsh, but will still grab grays.

This product is awesome if you have the right expectations! My salon blonde balayage (on light brunette roots) was several months grown out & costs $250. This $5 product was able to even out my overall color and blend the harsh root/highlight contrast at the top. See collage for shades & timestamps. Dark Blonde was a good natural match. I repurchased in Light Golden Brown for a slightly darker/warmer tone and probably prefer the first but both are good. As with other box dyes, individual results vary and you have to be ok with a range of final looks. It did not cause any damage. USE: I tried to do a very thorough job saturating all hair and left it in slightly longer than instructed, for 30 minutes. The bottle surprised me and one was enough to cover my long, medium thickness hair. CONS: It does not cover grays completely and I have a handful but it blended the majority of them. It does not last 28 washes since I had noticeable fading around 8 weeks (washing hair weekly.) However, both are not dealbreakers for me given my intentions of using this product. In my opinion this is worth a try if you’re on a budget! It’s ideal for freshening up/evening out tone and blending grown out color. Plus, it’s low risk since it’s semipermanent. I’ll reuse :)
