Definetely works but too strong for car oil leak detection
The light and glasses are well made and easy to use in general. No issues there. The glasses seem to cut out UV because the purple light looks like a warm yellow when using the yellow glasses. Whether that means the UV is cut out, not sure. Would need a spectrometer to confirm that. I think the UV light is way to strong to use under an engine bay. Might be better to use a 12 or 21 LED light for oil leak hunting. Having the light bounce back from the engine with your face 1 foot away is not ideal and I am guessing stray light came from the sides. I feel like my eyes are still a bit worn out from the oil leak hunting session. Was using the light for about 10-15 minutes total over 1 hour. The light seems to shine about 15-20 feet away no problem.

Great value. Easy to use.
Didn’t work out of the box. The weird design with the big spring was not making contact to the LED board. I bent it slightly and it works perfect now. Other reviewers flagged this as well The light is powerful, the lenses are clear. I finally found the leak!!!
