Worth the Money with all the Features I've been using the Smart Stick Tactical Walking Stick for a few days now, and it has quickly become an essential part of my daily routine. The built-in LED lights are incredibly bright—they light up the path ahead perfectly during nighttime walks and make me feel much more visible and secure. It's like carrying a flashlight and a walking stick all in one. It also comes with a tripod in which you can fit the stick and use it while camping or doing anything at night. One of the most useful features is the USB charger. I’ve used it multiple times to give my phone a quick boost when I’m out and about, especially during longer hikes or evening strolls when battery life starts to run low. It's super convenient and works surprisingly well. But the feature that gives me the most peace of mind is the built-in stun gun. On one walk, an aggressive stray dog started approaching me, and just the crackling sound of the stun gun was enough to scare it off. I didn’t even have to use it—just knowing I had it, and seeing how effective the sound alone was, made me feel so much safer. Overall this is a decent hiking stick but its missing the mark on several items that could easily make this a great hiking stick. The card inside said they are a small business and asked to review the item if satisfied. Well what if you aren't satisfied, buzz off? lol. I think this deserves 3.5 stars but the way the rating system on here is promoted, it's like, if you aren't at least 4 stars, you're done, you won't even be considered by people or the algo to buy it. My star raing woujldn't mean, don't buy it, just that it is average in several areas but I decided to give it 4 so they wouldn't get that kind of hit. I think being a small company they might take to heart the review comments more to make a better improved product for their next release. What I liked: -Material is good, has some heft but stil pretty light, definately can clobber someone over the head with it. Good quality -The wrist carry strap is built in and always available. -The LED light is quite bright and will illuminate a decent area in front of you. It has also 2 other modes which are useful if you are a police officer I guess?? If you hold the button down while turning on, it will blink red and blue and make you look like a cop car. And if you turn on the light normally and then hold the button down, it will blink red white and blue and show your patriotism :-) -Price is ok for it. -Charging port is convenient. What would make it way better: -The wrist carry strap is built in and NOT removable. I don't care for it so I had to use scissors to pry it open and scratched the stick in the process. Why not have a button to make it removable or just a loop you can run through? -It would be great if the LED light was adjustable in brightness. -The stun gun at the end of the pole. Will it scare your house cat, yes. Will it stop a cougar from attacking you, probably not. Will it anger a bear so he tears you to shreads, most definitely. I can't see using this for anything. I'd do way more damage swinging the stick then I would doing some zap zap that you have to be accurate to point and hit. And I think this might give some elder/women folk a false sense of security if they think this would stop an attacker but I guess something is better than nothing? There is another walking stick available on amazon with a far better stunning system that is stronger, and covers a much larger portion of the stick so accuracy is not needed. And that one has an arm switch mode so there is no accidental misfires and you can keep it ready when trouble nears. This hiking stick, you have to take a moment to take off the cap. This is the same cap that hits othe ground while hiking. Those couple seconds could be the seconds you need so while a good idea, the implementation is all wrong. -The stun thing again, I don't know how many times I hit the stun button thinking it was the light button. It' totatlly in the wrong spot but the right spot fo the led lights. Put the stun button somewhere near top of the stick. You want to keep your distance as far from what you are zapping as much as possible so you don't want to be extending your arm down the stick to be hiting the zap button bringing you closer to the thing you are zapping. AND, put an arming switch so you can't be accidently hitting it. So a quick flick to arm, then hit the button wouild make sense and avoid using the wrong button. But honestly, unless you improve the zapper, I'd just get rid of the thing altogether. -Ok, you included a tripod, the top of the stick has a charging port, and right below are bright LED lights. Do i have to say the obvious, why did you not include a universal camera mount on top???. How cool would that be. You stick this hiking stick down with the tripod, and you have a built in light ready to go, with a charging port for the camera to do some impromptu filming. That feature alone, I bet would way increase the sales if you adevertize it that way. -The adjustment valve for the height. No matter how much its tighen, I still end up pushing it down where it collapses to the shortest height. Now if you are someone far less heavier or not planning on puttiig much weight on it, it can probably stay the hieight for you, but it never could for me so that feature was useless. Do better. -The tripod, this almost seemed like an after thought. If youl can design the stick so it has a built in tripod, it would make it far more likely to take the tripod with you cause right now, it's like this total seperate accessory you have to store somehwere else and I know i'm going to lose it. -The fan USB, pretty much useless and a gimmick You are way better off getting one of those little portable dust blowers that can cool you off way more than this itty bitty dinky plastic fan can. -Carry case is a lame cloth thing, meh, why even bother. So it's decent, but man, get that unierval camera mount on, you have a huge hit!

Got my Stick and it wouldn't take a charge, nor would the light work after turning on once, then it popped off-- forever! I contacted the Stick People and they were very prompt and attentive to my issues. We had a thorough exchange, trying to pinpoint the problem. After determining that it just wasn't working, they sent a replacement one out immediately (thank you, Stick People!) The new one soon arrived and it's a wonderful walking Stick! Very cool that you can pop in a little fan right at the top to provide a li'l breeze. The solar panel can charge it while you're out in the sun, even in bright light as the blue charging light is often lit. It's a nice weight, not too heavy, and not light where it feels flimsy or "cheap", and the light works very well. I love that it also has a little bag w/a shoulder strap you can fit the Stick into once you retract the tip all the way. My S.O. and I searched many walking sticks and hiking poles before choosing The Stick for all these features. The USB port at the top can charge your phone should you need it. It's not superfast but it will definitely save your device from certain battery death! I feel confident that a charged up Stick is going to save us from any unexpected e-jams we may encounter while out hiking and on walks. We are extremely happy with our Stick and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great walking stick that can give you some stability, protection, and charging ability away from any outlets. Purchased two of these. I really like this product. Good blend of features and seems solid, though I’ve yet to use it frequently to test ruggedness over time. It’s not the lightest stick but that’s understandable with the solid, metal construction for durability and longevity. Some minor improvement suggestions to make it great: 1) The storage bag needs to be an inch longer. Currently too fiddly and cumbersome to get the stick all the way in and cinch up the cords. 2) The screw-on the top end cap needs to have a tether attaching it to the main body. Just too easy to misplace and lose it. 3) As another reviewer already noted, the rubber foot needs to be screw or solid clip-on attachment rather than friction fit. Too easy to be detached in undergrowth and it’s gone. 4) A pity the charger plug can’t be USB-C for convenience rather than the current round plug based which requires keeping the provided cable around to charge it. And there’s apparently no place to store the custom cable onboard, so again easy to misplace.
