I'm a convert. Never thought I'd admit it but here I am, 4 months in and it's working wonderfully.
I'll make this short and sweet and get right to the point. I could type paragraphs about my background working in lawn and garden and repairing gas tools but that's irrelevant. On to what is; TL;DR great mower, has many positives over a gas engine. REGISTER YOUR MOWER/CHARGER/BATTERY as soon as you get it. EGO customer service was great to me but it would have been a pain if I hadn't registered. Here are the selling points that led me to buy this battery powered (scoff!) mower. So far it's lived up to them very well; 1) Storage. I can blow this thing off with compressed air and it folds up neatly into a small form factor and I can store it in my house. I wouldn't dare try that with a gas powered mower. This thing fits neatly against the wall by my back door and is extremely easy to unfold when I need to mow. 1 side lever and 2 clamps to extend the handlebar and I'm off. I don't have an outdoor shed to store tools in so... this was a big thing for me. 2) Quiet. This thing is pretty damn quiet, it just sounds like a fan on wheels. I'm not worried about pissing off the neighbors when I mow later in the evenings to escape the heat and it's just nice to be able to hear myself think while I'm using it. 3) Ability to mow at normal pace. This is the one I was concerned about. I didn't get a self-propelled option (I'm not that bougie) but I've had to put off mowing longer than I like (I try to mow weekly) and even in dense tall grass I have no issues powering right through it. The mower has an internal mode where it senses the blade speed reducing and kicks in a high-current mode until you get through the tough stuff. I can hear and feel it power-up. It's nice that it automatically goes back down in output to minimize battery consumption. 4) longevity. What's the point in having a battery powered mower if I have to recharge it after every single pass, right? I opted for the 7.5 Ah battery to mitigate the changeover from gas and I am not missing the extra mess, noise, or smell over this thing. I had some issues with the battery but I'll discuss that more later in the "cons" but TL;DR Ego customer service warrantied it and I had a new one within a week so that's a HUGE plus for me, that they stand behind their product. I have a 1/3 acre lawn and I can get through it with power to spare on the 7.5Ah battery. I'm not mowing super thick southern grass like I did in Charleston (centipede etc...) and I mow weekly but so far I'm not missing gas at all in this regard. Things that I've observed since I've owned it that I would change if I had my druthers but really aren't cons so to speak. 1) The blade material is kind of soft. This thing is by no means a commercial grade product and you need to pick up things in your yard before mowing. I have a tree in the back yard and I've missed the occasional twig here and there. The blades become dinged pretty easily but I can file them right back out with no issues. 2) I have mixed feelings about the deck design. On one hand it sheds grass very easily, I don't have to clean it, even if it clumps a bit when it's damp/dewy outside. I like that it's plastic and it seems to hold up MUCH better than the blades do. I am not worried about it rusting away or requiring replacement at all. but the con here is the single-handle deck height system. The whole mower is light, maybe 60-75% of the weight is just in the battery alone. It's super easy to push and navigate. 3) Single-point deck height adjustment... The deck height adjust, while convenient, places the front wheels so far in front of the mower I can't really get that close to what I'm mowing. The sides end right by the blade and I can get up close there but not at all in the front. I'd rather have to individually adjust each wheel's height and gain some coverage at the front. I don't change deck height all that often. I've got a nice DeWalt string trimmer so I'm covered in this regard but still, I'd change it if I could. 4) battery charge time. So the set I bought came with the fast charger. True to promise It charges the 7.5Ah battery in under an hour. It's a little noisy but not a deal breaker for me. My DeWalt fast charger is just as loud and I appreciate that it has a fan to cool the battery while it charges. Customer Support/issues. The only problem I've had so far is, right out of the box, the battery wouldn't fully charge to all 5 bars. I didn't think much of it as the first couple of weeks I had no issue mowing my yard with plenty of juice left over. by the end of the third week I couldn't even do half and I was a little irritated but when I got online to file a warranty claim, I was directed to a phone number. Much to my surprise I was able to get my battery covered very easily, Ego sent a new one through UPS and I had it within a few days, they didn't ask me to return the old one so now I have a spare-ish that'll last for a little bit at least. The new 7.5Ah battery is fantastic and it's clear the first one had a dead bank or some other internal issue.

Ease of use and good build quality for a nice price!
Very happy with this purchase so far! It cuts very well, a single charge of the battery lasts nearly an hour and I can do my whole lawn and back yard in one go! The best thing about this machine is the noise level. It's about half as loud as a gasoline powered mower which allows enjoyment of music via headphones and truly elevates my yardwork. Although a majority of the mower is made of plastic, it is put together quite well and is very good quality. It's is very lightweight which can be both a con and a pro because it's very easy to maneuver but the front end can also raise easily if not careful. I recommend this machine for the price point and cannot wait to put some more hours with it!

Super easy to use and battery is more than enough
I have been using the same Craftsman gas powered lawnmower for the last thirty years. After the lawnmower finally decided it didn't want to start easily anymore (despite once being branded as "easy start"), I decided to finally upgrade. This Ego branded lawnmower is a lot lighter (in a good way) and despite not being self propelled, I don't think it's a deal breaker, particularly for such a small front and back lawn size like what I have. I am able to do both and the hell strip along the sidewalk without even burning off more than a quarter of its battery life. I have been very impressed at how easy it is to use and clean up. I'm able to not have to store gasoline in my garage anymore either, which is a huge plus, not deal with changing oil or spark plugs. It is super quiet to the extent that sometimes I feel like I'm not mowing my lawn since I've been accustomed to not hearing anything except a loud engine mower ... But it is working despite it being so quiet. I really appreciate that it can fold up into itself and so I'm able to store it in the garage instead of outside. Southern California Air quality department also gave me a $200 check for upgrading and recycling my old gas powered mower. A win win overall would recommend!!

Good enough that I bought it again
I'd love to give this 5 stars but it doesn't cut well enough to deserve it. That said, I'm buying my second model 2101 to replace the one I got 7 years ago. The original still runs fine, but the wheels are ripped up (my fault for repeatedly pushing it along retaining block wall). For the price of 4 wheels and a new battery you may as well buy a new mower. I was happy to see this model still available. The EGO website directed me to the Amazon page, but make sure it says sold by Amazon.com so EGO will honor the warranty. I looked at the newer 2114 model. That one has slightly more torque (6 vs 5.3 lb-ft) and the battery compartment is a little nicer (battery installs at an angle and the release is more of a lever than a button), but after considering the options I prefer the design of the 2101. It stores better, with the handle folding fully upright. The grab handle is much nicer going all the way through the body whereas the 2114 handle is a little recess that barely fits your fingertips. As for performance, I'd rate this 7 out of 10. It doesn't cut as well as I'd like, but considering the package overall, it's good enough that I bought another one. It's lightweight and fairly quiet (less so with the high-lift blade). We have very lush St Augustine grass which is probably worst case for a mower. The standard blade probably misses about 3% of the grass blades. Still, the yard looks amazing, especially compared to the "professional" service that used a zero-turn mower that mutilated our yard, cut it too low, and created ruts. I mow at the highest setting (4") and mow at least once per week during growing season. By the end of the first summer with this EGO mower, we started getting compliments from our neighbors on how nice the yard looked. There may be better mowers, but this is easy to use and easy to store. I don't have to worry about maintenance or gas and it runs quiet enough to listen to podcasts or audiobooks while mowing.

Best Lawn Mower I’ve Ever Owned!
The EGO POWER+ Electric Lawn Mower, Cordless, is a dream come true for my yard work! The battery life is impressive - handles my half-acre lawn on a single charge - and the cut is clean and even. It’s quiet compared to gas mowers, and the self-propelled feature saves my back on hills. Plus, no fumes or oil changes - super easy to maintain. This mower has made lawn care enjoyable, and I can’t recommend it enough!

Fantastic mower...with one caveat
This is my first mower that doesn't run on gas. I was hesitant to buy this, but now I wish I had made the switch to battery-electric long before. My one caveat is the blade that mine shipped with...it kind of stinks...you really need to get the high-lift blade. See below. Just to be clear, I did not opt for the self-propelled option as I didn't really see it as necessary having never used a self-propelled mower. Out of the box...well, it pretty much works out of the box. Essentially no assembly required...just unpack, unfold, pop the battery in and go. Easy peasy. Seriously, 5 minutes at most and no tools required (unless you want to change the blade...and you WILL want to change the blade...see below). The mower is not silent, but compared to a gas mower it is super quiet. No gas to refill and no oil to change. Very clean setup. To clean the deck, you simply tip it on its side and wipe it out with your hand or a paper towel. Takes less than a minute. Crazy easy. Light weight and very portable, especially if you take the battery out. Battery life depends on your needs. I have mowed three times on a single charge, but I have a small yard. Takes me 20 minutes for a complete mowing session, so about 60 minutes on a charge should be a good estimate. Obviously you could get a second battery if this is insufficient for your yard size. Cut quality is horrible with the stock blade. You must spend $30 for the high lift blade if your version doesn't come with one, at least in my experience and for my yard. Honestly I can't believe EGO bothers to ship with the "mulching" blade on this mower. Maneuverability is not as good as I am used to with my old gas mower. Only a problem with small yards or if you have lots of obstacles. To be clear, this is not a deal killer. At this point I am nit picking. Bottom line: fantastic mower and I am very happy with the purchase and its performance Pros: 1. quiet 2. clean 3. easy to assemble 4. easy to use 5. compact/foldable 6. powerful Cons 1. The "mulching" blade that came with my version is horrible. I am unsure why EGO even bothers shipping with this blade. It does not stand up the grass nor does it pull up any debris on the yard like leafs. If you are mulching, you must buy the high lift blade if your mower doesn't come with one. This blade makes all the difference. 2. This mower is a bit "bulky" from a maneuverability standpoint. Not sure why this is the case, but definitely not very easy to mow smaller yards that have a lot of obstacles. My previous gas mower was actually much better. 3. The blade seems to dull quickly...hoping that a sharper, more durable blade will be available in the future.

Powerful, Quiet, and worth every penny!
I recently upgraded from a 16" cut mower with a 40w battery to the Ego Power+ LM2114, and the difference is night and day. This 21" cut, 56w 6.0Ah powerhouse makes mowing effortless. My previous mower barely made it through the front yard most of the time, but this one handles both the front and back with a single charge—no problem at all! The cut quality is exceptional, leaving a clean, professional-looking finish. Whether you prefer mulching, side discharge, or bagging, this mower gives you the flexibility to keep your yard looking exactly how you want it. Beyond its performance, one of the standout features is how quiet it is. Compared to gas mowers, the LM2114 runs smoothly with minimal noise, making yard work much more pleasant. Plus, for the quality and power you’re getting, it’s a great value for the money. If you're on the fence about switching to an electric mower, I highly recommend this one. It has exceeded my expectations in every way!

Wow, light and quiet machine for my yard
Very impressive. My old Toro machine broke down. I was searching new options. A church friend recommended this brand. I ordered this one and it came earlier. Installation was easy. After full charge, I started my first try. The machine is super light and very easy to move around on the lawn. I think I used less than 15 minutes to get front yard done (about 2500 square feet). It took one grid battery. Because I have a huge yard, I recharged it to full. I think I spent about 30-40 minutes on the back yard. My back yard is a little bit hilly. There was no problem. The light machine left little foot print on the yard after it was done. 2 grid battery was left. I feel I have been totally released from the old heavy gas mower. The noise from the machine is very low. There is no need to have a noise cancellation earbuds. To be safe, I will get Second battery to cover my yard. Charging is very fast. I hope this machine can last long time. Highly recommended.
