Since I’m older and the gray hairs come in, the texture of my hair has changed. I’ve tried so many products but to no avail. I spent a lot of money and asking others what they use. I asked a total stranger what she use, her hair was beautiful! She told me and I purchased two of your products. It WORKS!! I love it! It’s perfect and most importantly it’s not oily it yet my hair’s is not dry. I will be using your whole line of products because it’s perfect for my hair! Thank you so much!

One of my favorite curly hair products from the doux which really hasn’t had any misses yet in my book. Reasonably priced, great for slip and hold for defined curls. Cons: can be a little crunchy. But helps with poofy roots if that’s an issue you have. I didn’t really need edge control with this product. One or the other.

I used this gel on my kids' mixed hair - 3a and 3c respectively. The gel does define and hold the curls well for a whole week with minimal retouching. However, the hair only looks good on day 2 and after. Even with a diffuser blow dryer, even when fully dry, it looks awfully "wet" and clumpy on day 1, and it's hard to the touch. I know some people love the "wet look", maybe that's what this gel is going for, but this is too much. It's hard to break the cast in any kind of attractive way on day 1. My kids sleep in satin bonnets and it took until they crushed the cast evenly by sleeping on it for one night to actually get a softer look that doesn't look plastic. My kids are 9 and 11 years old so I've tried all kinds of products over the years, and this one has the heaviest, most plastic-looking cast of all. I really like the hold after day 1, I just wish day 1 wasn't a total loss. Now I have to do even more planning if there's something like pictures being taken for holidays/school/etc. and I want their hair to look natural and not plastic. That's very disappointing.

Excellent product for my natural hair; Before using this gel my hair was soft like a cotton ball- BUT adding 808 base gel brought out the defined curl texture / pattern. Never sticky either.

I was excited to try this because all the YouTube girlies were raving about it. I used it several times because I wanted to love it so bad. I find it is not a medium hold on my hair. It would be better as a detangler. And I find that it weighs my hair down :(. It does not layer well with Big Poppa or other doux products. Because of the aloe vera, it leaves the hair moisturized. I like the scent, and the product does give good value for the money. Maybe it will pair well with another gel outside the Doux collection. But I am still a fan of the doux, just not this.

I absolutely love The Doux products! I’m new to the line, so still figuring out what all works best, but this one so far seems like one of my new staples. I have a very mixed hair type, wavy to curly mostly, but some kinky places, and basically it never wants to do what I want it to do. My biggest problem area has always been my nape, the hair their is unruly and no product has ever been able to control it, as it just goes with zero definition, which looks terrible when I wear a ponytail, and like I didn’t do my hair at all, or just rolled out of bed. The Doux products are the first I have ever used that actually tame those problem areas. My hair finally looks good when I wear it in a ponytail, which is most days.

Love this product!! Holds curl and frizz down. Durable, flow instructions for use.
