Underestimated Master

Sawallisch didn't get the attention he deserved during his long career. Figures such as Karajan, Boehm and Klemperer were more in the limelight, but Sawallisch was at the very least their equal, and this excellent collection demonstrates the fact. See also his Opera recordings which includes a fine Ring Cycle.
