Easy to feel when you've got the angle right
After sampling a little ceramic thing at a sporting goods store and being impressed with the results I decided to find a good ceramic honing rod. When I got this thing I set about honing every knife I own and it put a shaving sharp edge on them all with relative ease. I am thoroughly impressed with this honing rod and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking to touch up their blades quick and easy

Well made; easy to use; very effective
I'm very pleased with this honing rod. It has a nice, solid feel to it, and the handle is comfortable to grasp and hold. The rubber end tip is effective to keep the rod firmly planted in place when it's used vertically, and can be removed should you want to use it in a more freehand fashion. The 20 degree angles on the handle are helpful. One quibble is that I would have liked to see a 15 degree guide in addition to the 20 degree ones, but it's not a significant issue. This works great to hone an already sharpened blade to an excellent edge. I use it before each knife use and it has significantly extended the time before the blade needs a full sharpening. It's quick, easy and effective -- the three criteria I look for the most when it comes to keeping a blade at peak sharpness. Very good value for the price.

It works well; just have to have the right angle which is set at the handle. Just hold that angle all the way down the ceramic sharpener. It works better than the steel I have. Recommend.

Great knife sharpener
Why did you pick this product vs others?: This is a great sharpener that’s quick and easy to use. I’ve used several different knife sharpeners over the years, and this is certainly the best. Just be careful not to drop it, as it can break. This has never been an issue for me, but worth mentioning. *Important: This is a knife SHARPENER. When looking for a sharpener you will typically get a lot of offers for honing tools, which do NOT sharpen anywhere near as well as an actual sharpener. I still have my honing bar, but use it much less often.

Restorable sharpening rod
Needs to be cleaned to restore abrasion . Unlike metal sharpener rods which wear or rust, this ceramic rod can be cleaned to restore abrasion and won’t corrode. Handle offers reference angles to position blade at start.

De los esenciales sin llegar a lo lujoso para el cocinero que requiera tener sus cuchilloa en rendimiento durante el servicio . Al ser de cerámica no solo asienta el filo si no que también aunque no sea similar a una piedra de afilado , pero da un ligero afilado al cuchillo incluso a a cuchillos sin nada de filo los puede ayudar. 毎日料理するご家庭の週に一度の包丁メンテナンスに丁度いいです。 片側20度の角度目安が付いたハンドルは研ぎの難易度を確実に低くします。一度この角度で研ぎ上げれば、次週からは5回づつ刃を通すだけで切れ味が蘇るでしょう。 20度以外で研ぎたい方はハンドルを削りましょう。4面プラス対角線も使えば計8面ありますから4種類の角度を使い分けることができます。 研いでみた感じは1500~2000番程度の番手に感じます。このままでも十分切れますが超仕上げ前に使うのもいいと思います。 円柱型なので刃こぼれがあってもセレーション刃にしてくれます。逆に完全に真っ直ぐな刃は真っ直ぐではなくなるかもしれません。 片刃の和包丁の場合、裏スキ面は角砥石の広い面で研ぐのを強くオススメします。同様にハサミの合わせ面も角砥石の狭い面を使ってください。
