I bought this not knowing what to expect. I have tried refilling the original Braun cleaning fluid tray but it is impossible to empty and rinse so it always had somewhat dirty solution. The oem cartridges are too expensive so I tried this solution. I filled the base following instructions (cleaner + 150ml water) but the cleaning cycle wouldn't start. I had to add a bit more water with the lid on. The cleaning cycle started and my razor is clean! So far, it works great. I'm glad I bought this!

Review because it is word for word exactly what I have to say about this cartridge I want my money back this is a terrible product "bought this hoping for a solution to the expensive $5+ EA Braun Clean and Renew Refill cartridges but I’m not pleased with results. First off, this reusable cartridge is made well but why doesn’t the top snap onto the bottom instead of just sitting loose on top? Thats a poor design! And to prove this, I can tell you more than once when my cleaning base got bumped accidentally its spilled solution all over the counter. Not cool! This needs to be reengineered. Speaking of the cartridge, the top half of it contains a thin white translucent film layer over a 1” hole that appears to be a filter but none of their marketing material addresses this (see pic). It looks like it can be peeled off but I’ve just left it intact not really knowing what its function is. It doesn’t clean the shaver head as well. After the cleaning cycle, when I pop off the head to look, there are still clumps of hair, still damp, remaining in the cutters (see pic). The Braun OEM cartridge never exhibited this. Also, the detergent pack doesn’t contain alcohol in the solution (and seller even uses that as a selling point). It’s NOT a positive. It doesn’t dry out the shaver head properly, so you when you hoist the razor out of the cleaning base and put it against your face … Surprise! IT’S STILL WET! Annoying! By comparison, the Braun OEM cartridges leave your shaver smelling clean and pleasant. This detergent solution leaves a funny metallic smell lingering on the head which is off-putting when I’m shaving (since it’s near my nose the whole time), making me wonder if it really cleaned my shaver or not. I think having the alcohol in the mix is a good thing! Finally after the now second use of the detergent solution packet, I’ve seen a sticky residue present inside the base where the shaver sits; and also when I open up the reusable cartridge, it’s in the water mixture. Not sure what that is. I’d stay clear of this product. I’m going back to the Braun OEM Clean and Renew Refill Cartridge. That always did a good job. Hopefully I haven’t ruined my shaver or base for good! 😑" Also it does not fit correctly in place

I like the container but the cleaner suds and the shaving head is still wet the next day.

A great replacement for my original cleaning solution that's a fraction of the price and does the job well. In addition to being effective, it does not smell overly chemical, and with multiple dry packs of solution should last a long time. Much better than paying the OEM price!

These are nice in theory, but I found them lacking. This works fine with the cleaning system and does the job it was designed for. I also found the aroma quite nice. However, these don't have the lubrication ability of the original and that makes a large difference. I swapped in a new set of blades at the same time I installed this cleaning system and I could feel the blades heating up as I shaved. I had to run my razor under water to finish my shave. I could also hear the blades in motion. I do think these would be good for traveling though.

We needed something that would be a reusable device for my husband’s shaver. Read reviews not really positive but we took a chance. Received quickly and it works great. We used the soap that was included then tried once with just a dab of dawn soap then heaped just added only hydrogen peroxide that worked just as good as the other two. Still have to clean the shield with a scrub brush but that’s okay.
