Review: works great...keeps you warm - worked great...we went hiking Mount Haleakala this summer and the cabins we were in didn't have the best insulation...outside temps mid 30's to 40's...everyone else hiked in with huge sleeping bags I took this little bivvy the size of a soda can the scout master didn't think it would be enough so I tested it in the walking freezer at Costco...temp 40 degrees and it was nice and toasty inside...thats me in the picture I am 5'10" 160 pounds I was wearing a tee shirt and shorts in that picture...all I wore up there was Nike Thermo pants and Nike Thermo long sleeve shirt and a Merino wool cap along with the bivvy at night...never got cold once...because this is the "Lite" there isn't a zipper to get in and out and there is a small tear now on the top...I think next time I am going to get the model with the zipper

A: Other than the weight the Escape has a foot box, hood with drawstring and a zipper. The Escape Lite is squared off at the top and does not have a zipper or foot box.

**Q: How many degrees of warmth will this add when used with a sleeping bag?**
A: It's a bivvy bag, not an electric blanket, so the amount of "warmth" depends to how much heat your body does generate.This bivvy does reflect a good amount of body heat, so it does work well as long as you're well insulated, especially from the ground. No bivvy or sleeping bag of any price will be "warm" if not insulated from the ground and/or the body inside is not generating heath.In my experience, I would say it's between 5 to 10ºc.

**Q: hood with drawstring?**
A: This is the lite version of the bag.  There is a heavier version that has a drawstring hood and a 2' zipper for $20 more.

Just what I wanted for emergency packing in my SAR bag--just in case I get stuck out over night. Very light weight, but the material seems pretty tough. I wanted the water vapor transmission too & this has it.
