PTZ WiFi Security Camera

The camera is ideal for my requirements for home security. It gives very clear day time images, and I like the fact it has optical zoom as well as digital zoom. It supports audio which is a great feature. On the whole the camera was easy to install and set up with a little help from Dericams customer support, who i can highly recommend. I had to contact them for a couple of minor issues, one being how to set up email alerts. They were excellent in the speed at which they responded and each time had answeres to my questions. I was so impressed with the quality of the images and the ease of use through the Dericam app that i ordered a second camera for the rear of my house. The only thing i would say against the camera is the email alerts are a little bit sensitive even on a low setting, but this obviously doesnt affect the operation of the camera. All in all a great camera for the price.

The camera is great, but let down greatly by the app which you need to run it. The app continuously loses the camera, so you have to keep reinstalling it, which is a massive problem. If you are out of your house and want to check your property you can't, because the camera disappears from the app. You can only search for the camera and re-add when you are connected to your network at home. I wouldnt recommend until sorted, will be returning to Amazon if no update for the app soon, by addressing the problem.

I have given 5 stars as this is a great product, crisp clear picture & easily connected to WiFi via iPhone. customer service is professional & helpful. I’ll give Some hints : Make sure you photograph the UID number ( sticker ) on the camera before installation ( as you’ll need it for customer service ). This will save you taking it down. Also if connecting to your PC do it before you install the camera outside. Although the instructions don’t make that clear. You will need a 1 inch hole drilling to get the camera wires through & a power socket or extension to power it close to the drilled hole. I had someone do the drilling for me as it’s no easy task 20 foot up a ladder. Due to WiFi There are some minor lag issues when panning & tilting but nothing major. I have mine set up on iPhone & PC And it really does look sharp. I still have motion detection & email to set up but for what it does so far I’m very impressed! Also no problems connecting to the camera via the app when I’m at work 20 miles away. I’m sure if there’s better WiFi PTZ out there but for the price & with a little patience this truly is an exceptional product.

Really great picture on this camera. Easy set set up but does need a sizeable hole drilled to get the cables through the wall, mainly because of the Ethernet connector. I'd also like to see more software functionality e.g. connectivity with Alexa, Siri etc so you can pause monitoring and recording.

this is a much better cam then foscams and cheaper too the sound works too i love it good support to but did not need it but they sent me a email telling me they would give me support thats never happend to me i dont think perfect pic day or night

For potential buyers really. The camera itself works well, signal is strong and the quality is decent. The software is decent enough for managing the camera but nothing special compared to some other cameras we've used. The main issue is that only 8 months since purchase it has started locking up, becoming unusable and frozen on an image with no way of getting it to work again without requiring a hard reset. It started around 5 months in locking up once every 3/4 weeks and now it's locking up pretty much every week like clockwork. I don't see it lasting much longer. Bear in mind it is positioned inside a large hall, shielded from the elements and out of reach of interference so, ideal operating conditions really. Whether or not we received a "bad one" or they are all prone to failure I can't attest to, but the fact that the return window is only 1 month when a lot of others we have purchased come with the standard 12 months is I think, pretty damning.

La instalación de la cámara es sencilla la aplicación es fácil de seguir, no ha sido así con la configuración del correo electrónico que estoy teniendo problemas, la sensibilidad de la alarma en exterior o sea la detección de movimiento es bastante sensible se puede regular pero en zona de arbolado Salta continuamente por el movimiento las ramas por efecto del viento, la imagen es muy clara, espero que sea estanca por las lluvias que tengan que venir y la nieve y la visión nocturna es suficiente aunque apagues la cámara no se desconfigura la puedes tener apagada y conectarla cuando salgas o sea necesario aunque dice que puedes instalar la cámara en otras aplicaciones en mi caso no ha sido posible PD. Tras las lluvias y las nieves del invierno no ha sufrido daños sigue funcionando perfectamente no ha entrado humedad y sigue operativa. PD: si cambias de teléfono y te instalas nuevamente la aplicación no hay forma de que conecte con la cámara la única solución es desmontarla bajarla , conectarla con el cable Ethernet y que conecte nuevamente, un total engorro y si encima la tienes en un poste de difícil acceso la broma es mayúscula espero que te sirva de algo, pero es muy robusta y me parece que es buena. PD: tras 2 años y pico de funcionamiento no me ha dado problemas salvo cuando tuve que cambiar el teléfono que la tuve que desmontar y conectarla otra vez al router porque la aplicación no detectaba la cámara, por lo demás sigue funcionando bien no se empana el cristal como dicen otros clientes y bueno aguanta la lluvia y la nieve, si tienes que limpiar de vez en cuando el cristal por qué se ensucia con el agua y el polvo. PD: 25/02/24 La cámara sigue funcionando sin ningún problema tras todos estos años, aunque la lente que cubre la cámara se ha ido poniendo amarillenta quizás por los rayos UVA como los faros de los coches y la luz infrarroja para la visión nocturna no llega correctamente siendo ineficaz por la noche aunque limpies la lente no se puede ver mucho no sé si habrá repuestos pero bueno por el día funciona perfectamente y se ve fenomenal, también al cambiar de compañía de Internet he tenido que bajar la cámara conectarla al router y ha sido un poco engorroso pero bueno sigue funcionando, también ha sobrevivido a un hormiguero que habían hecho las hormigas aprovechando el calorcito del dispositivo 😲

EDIT: I have upgraded my rating from three stars to five because there is an easy fix to the email problem that I described below if you are using an iPad or iPhone to set up your camera. You can’t do it by simply entering the information on the Dericam app, it won’t accept email settings. . But go ahead and set up the camera and then look under the settings for your IP address and enter that address directly into your search window. Using the password that you should have set up already, you can access the camera and it will take you to a screen that will allow you to set up the email address. The IP address is found on the Dericam app under “camera information” in settings. Another way to enter email info is to use a computer… the Dericam install app will work there. These are great cameras for the price. I have six of them in the S1 original exterior PTZ cameras, and four of their interior cameras. I just bought this S2 for the first time and the picture is phenomenal on my third party app. Not quite as good on the Dericam app actually. But, one of the touted features of these cameras is the ability to send you email alerts for motion. I have had no trouble setting up email alerts with any prior Dericam cameras, but I cannot get this S2 to recognize email settings. I know how to set up email settings since I have done it for all 10 cameras I currently have. But this new S2 will not even test the settings I put in . Dericam service keeps wanting to talk about the settings, but it doesn’t matter what the settings are if the camera will not even test them …so if getting email alerts is a priority to you, I would skip this camera.

Investigué mucho y leí cientos de reseñas de todas las cámaras de cámaras de CCTV antes de invertir en tres de estas cámaras. Son las mejores cámaras disponibles en el mercado, no son perfectas, pero aún así les doy 5 estrellas. El soporte al cliente es de 10 estrellas. Yo recomendaria.

Non le manca nulla! Robusta di costruzione, di facile montaggio ed ottima ricezione wifi. Lato software: molto funzionale e con tutte le funzioni che possono servire (alert mail, registrazione su sd, registrazione via FTP, ecc.); ottimo ed aggiornato sistema di gestione peer to peer via app e, contrariamente a quanto letto, utilizzabile anche tramite Chrome su PC (basta puntare all'IP assegnato dal router per accedere alla webcam ed alla sd interna). Lato hardware, ottima visibilità sia diurna che notturna (quest'ultima raggiunge tranquillamente i 15m).

Sehr einfache Inbetriebnahme. Kabel sind ausreichend lang aber nicht 1,50 Meter sondern nur 1,10 Meter. Leider müssen alle Stecker in einem Rutsch mit durch das Loch in der Wand was das ganze unnötig erschwert. Das geht besser. Wlan oder Lan fähig. Beides probiert und funktioniert problemlos. Micro, Lautsprecher oder eine Sirene fehlen leider. Bin noch auf der Suche nach was Geeignetem. Ansonsten fühlt sich das Gerät sehr wertig an. Gestochen scharfe Bilder bei Tag und bei Nacht und alles noch einstellbar. Bei der App werden alle wichtigen Betriebssysteme unterstützt. Wenn die jetzt noch ein paar Jahre durchhält ist das ganze eine klare Kaufempfehlung. Die restliche Konfigurierung mache ich nach und nach und passe die Rezension entsprechend an
