Onjali Q. Raúf has done it again! She writes wonderful books for children on contemporary issues. Written with knowledge, compassion and backed up with appendixes of where the reader can turn to next for more information. Her previous books have dealt with refugees, racism, domestic violence and, now, she deals with children in the capacity of caregiver. Onjali never gives the young reader too much. There is nothing graphic, or scary, but she does make her characters very real. And these books are just as readable for adults. In fact, please read them, or read along with your children to share the story. Her stories are excellent, great quality, and storylines that will keep a young reader engaged.

Read it with my 10yo every night before bed. We absolutely loved it. We got emotional in many parts of the story and felt like been inside the book.
