Affordable and dependable.
I read Amazon Reviews with a grain of salt... as most of the ones who give 1 star reviews are user error. I saw one person give it a bad review because the freezer part was smaller that the fridge section... really bro? look at the pictures and description... another could not figure out how to change the temp... it explains it right under the display. This is an affordable fridge/freezer that has worked flawless for me using both 12 volt and 120 volt. I have noticed that it is more efficient on 120 volt but keeps Ice cream frozen and water and food cold and fresh. I am running it with an ecoflow River 2 Pro with a 160 watt solar panel... At night I turn it on eco, it will run all night long with plenty of battery to spare... this is running on 12 volt. This is an outdoor rated cooler... but like anything, if you leave it out in the hot sun, it will run longer and work harder.... thus compromising the efficiency of the unit. Leave it in the shade or somewhere out of the sun with proper ventilation and it will run just fine. I run the fridge at about 32 and the freezer at -1 in warmer temps and it keeps everything cold in the fridge and frozen on the freezer side. I have bought the insulated cover and battery for this and have not had a chance to test it with those... but I will update when I do. Overall this is a solid unit that if operated correctly it will work just fine. It has not let me down yet... and don't think it will.

It worked good
This unit has been an excellent purchase. It works well for what I needed it to do. I like the idea of the dual-zone feature for the freezer and fridge. I had it in the back of my car, plugged in for a 10-hour drive, and it kept my items cold and frozen. Then I had it plugged in in my hotel room for about two weeks, and it worked great. I was able to eat in my room whenever I got hungry and didn’t have to go out in the middle of the night. It kept ice cream, meat, and produce at the perfect temperatures. I’ve also found another use for it that worked out better than I expected. When I order groceries from a local store, I set it out by the front door, plugged in and set to the needed temperature. Then I leave a note asking them to place the cold items inside. This works really well because I no longer have to wait for them—I can have the groceries delivered before I even get up.

Product Description is not accurate
This is what I purchased according to the product title "BougeRV 12 Volt Car Refrigerator Dual Zone, Portable Freezer Fridge APP Control, CRD35(35L) Compressor Freezer Fridge 12V/24V DC 110~240V AC, for Truck Van RV Camper SUV Boat Travel Camping Trips." APP Control: Freezer IS NOT blue tooth enable and CANNOT be connected to your smart device. This was a primary reason I purchased the freezer. (This is first reason I took away 1 star) Temperature: The temperature gauge on the freezer varies while empty between 3 to 10 degree on the side panel. It is not consistent. The temperature inside the freezer never dropped to the set temperature I choose with the plus / minus buttons on the panel. (This is second reason I took away 1 star) Side Panel Instructions: Nice to have since the app control is not available. Weight: It is heavy while empty but having the both shorter handle and long extendable handle helps to pick up freezer Extendable Handle: I am 5ft 9in tall I am always concerned about handles and if they will be long enough that I don't have to bend down. I can stand straight up and pull freezer easily My original requirements were I wanted a freezer/cooler that I could plug up with car lighter or AC/DC, not use ice, connected to app, easy to use, and keeps a consistent temperature ( +/- 5 degrees - wouldnt expect it to be perfect). I havent used it with food in it and traveling yet. Lets see if it holds up to my expectations. I might change my mind about not having ability to update temperature with app and update the rating Update 5/14/24 I am updating my review the seller was kind enough to reach out to me about my concerns. Temperature: Once you have product in the cooler it does regulate its temperature within 3. I had fruits and veggies set at 40 degrees. I wanted them cold but wanted to make sure they didnt freeze and ruin the lettuce I was carrying. Cooler held temperature really well during 8 hour drive. I forget to plug in the cooler on the return trip I had significantly less food in cooler and veggies stayed cold and I was able to return to house refrigerator and eat perfectly good veggies. Yeah!!! App Control: Seller sent me a link to video to get connect to the app. I will say the written instructions say connect to the app (but it doesn't tell you the app name). By default you would think the app name would be Bouge or something with the company name in it. Well its NOT If you are trying to connect look for CARFRIDGEFREEZER at least in the IOS store. Once I knew the correct app, I was able to connect and adjust the temperature via the app. Yeah again. 4 stars for working pretty good so will be using it alot this summer for day trips and extended trips. remove 1 star for poorly written instructions. But overall I like the cooler/freezer and its functionality. Customer Service: if I could I would give you 1/2 of a star for your help but I cant. I hope this helps others and gets BougeRV to update their instruction manual so others dont run into same problem

Great for vanlife
Great for my camper van. This refrigerator/freezer works well and maintains temperature perfectly. It uses about 34 watts when running on 12v in eco mode with the small side set at 0° and the larger side set at 37°. The size is exactly as noted in the listing. It’s easy to move around since there are wheels and a telescoping handle. It’s lightweight enough for me to easily lift in and out of my van even if it’s full. The cutting board inside the large compartment is a nice addition as well as the bottle opener and usb port on the outside. I did not buy the additional battery, but instead use my own power station to run it. This unit is an excellent value for the money.

Great piece of equipment—perfect for car trip.
Really great piece of equipment. I built a frame to mount it in our SUV and purchased a large battery to go with it, then we traveled the country for 6 weeks, eating out of the refrigerator as we drove. The car charged the battery and the battery ran the refrigerator. So, when we stopped for a few hours to hike a trail, the battery ran the refrigerator. I lifted the refrigerator out of the car almost every day, and it showed no signs of harm from the constant activity. Temperature control was good and we had no spoilage of food, either in the refrigerator section or freezer. It was very quiet, so no problems while driving. Note: it lacks any sort of tie-downs or provisions for mounting, so it slid around in my SUV until I built a wooden frame for it to sit in, and tied the frame to the car’s tie-downs. We will be using this refrigerator for many years, I think.

Bought this unit on sale for about $365 canadian for use at our remote off grid camp. Have historically used a propane/electric refrigerator (usually on propane) but figured id give a 12v cooler a try.. This thing works awesome. It gets cold in no time, uses a fraction of the energy that the old propane electric fridge used when it ran on ac power and my 12v solar system is more than sufficient to keep up with it. And no more propane! The dual zone works as expected, it freezes solid and overall its plenty large for a family of 4 for a week. No complaints other than the temperature seem to be about 5 degrees celsius warmer than the display.. no big deal though, i just set it 5 degrees colder and all is well. When away from camp i leave it plugged in on eco mode via 12v adapter so even though im not inverting power thru the solar system I can still have the cooler running. So far its been 2 months of continuous use without any issues. Considering a new propane fridge costs around $3000 cdn, this thing is a no brainer for what we needed. I wish i woulda bought one of these years ago.

Purchased in 2024 and finally got to put mine to the test during our long road trip across the country. Worked perfectly, kept things exactly as cold as they needed to be (popsicles and all sorts of freezer items as well) and surprisingly also kept things perfectly fresh (leftovers, fruits, veggies etc) much morseo than a normal household refrigerator would. A bit bulky but that’s just the way it is for the capacity. Had it in the back of my truck with my cap and a jackery plugged into a 12V plug I installed in the back. Had it set to max for about 8 days in a row total in the summer heat and never once had an issue. I covered it with a towel to keep direct sunlight off of it and also peering eyes which may have helped but like I said, functioned perfectly. The handle for pulling IS a bit flimsy so I wouldn’t use it fully extended personally unless pulling it empty. Used it to lift it while full (and she’s pretty heavy even while empty) and never had an issue with the handles but again I wouldn’t use fully extended just to be cautious. I like that the lids are reversible for which direction you want them to open depending on your setup. Overall no complaints other than the sturdiness of the handles. Compressor ran like a charm with no abnormal noises, kept temperature properly and all our food was kept in perfect condition. Bought it on sale and I couldn’t ask for much more. Hopefully it continues to be a reliable asset on our roadtrips.

The cooler has been working great for us! Holds temperature well with each side different when wanted. I had a small issue with one handle spring and the customer service was quick and sent me a complete new handle right away. We're back in business. Recommended.

This fridge does not keep steady temps,I expect some fluctuation in temperature but not the extremes of unit.Iused it for a week set the fridge at 37 f,and freezer at 0 f.Fridge Fluctuated between 28 f an 40f rarely hitting set temp.Freezer only got to 4f,but stayed mostly around 10 f to 15 f.Ouddoor temp never got warmer than 75f,and was 50f at night. Vegetables and dairy froze on the fridge side, ruining them. The freezer side is not cold enough for meat to stay good for extended periods. Now to return or exchange I have to pay shipping back, which is well over $100,which was not disclosed in the return policy.
