It is good quality and a pleasure to use, though I would hesitate to say it is leak proof. Perhaps if you screw the lid on very tight, but then it may not be so easy to open it again as the glass is slippery. There are two filters included and if you put your tea between them, you can drink directly from the bottle without getting the tea in your teeth :-) However, it is definitely not a thermos flask.
