Steve Silver Company Nelson Lift-Top Cocktail Table, 48 inches, Oak

This is a fabulous lift top coffee table. I have had mine for two years now and it's still like new. It's well made, easy care, and very good looking. The edges are rounded so there is no danger of running into a sharp edge, it is easy to raise and lower the top, but not so easy you have to worry about it lowering too fast, and it's easy care, just some spray furniture polish and a soft rag. The finish is a lot more durable than I thought it would be. After two years, no water marks (though most of the time we use coasters to be safe), and just two tiny shallow scratches, hardly viewable. We make a point not to sit on it, as I'm told lift tops come apart easy. This table is very sturdy, very beautiful and affordable. It's a little more than the mdf lift tops, but so worth every extra penny. The lift top is so convenient as well. We use it for meals, use of our laptops, jigsaw puzzles, and paperwork. I highly recommend this coffee table if you're looking for sturdy, lasting, easy care, and beautiful.

I absolutely love this table. It is a perfect tray table to snack on while watching Tv. It is sturdy and stable. It looks fantastic has two storage drawers along with a lot of space underneath. Nothing not to like about this table. Was super easy to assemble. It was awkward to move and heavy when it arrived in the box so having someone to help you move it would be helpful. But you will be using it in less than 20 minutes from opening the box. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!! And just so you know I don’t do that often

Great table! It is very sturdy compaired to a lot of the lift too tables you see. I can rest my arms very heavily on it and it isn't tipping. It does habe casters if you want to use them, I opted not to because it effected the stability somewhat. However it does have a plastic foot under the leg so it doesn't mess up the carpet ot wood. The table also has a bolt lock for the lift top so you can lock it in place. Instructions are super easy to follow. It did have a slight scratch in one leg due to shipping. All the storage space is nice, though the bottom drawers are shallow. It has the drawers in the front and back. The inside pockets under the table top are deeper. Do be careful setting the top down otherwise it can come down hard.

I waited a while to write this review because of the condition the table arrived in. There was a chunk of wood missing on one of the parts. Luckily, after putting it together it is barely visible. I've read every single review on this table on every site that sells it and you will have a 35% chance of something being damaged because it is being shipped from China which is very far away and it is not packaged in the most intelligent way. Thankfully, I contacted the seller and they made it right. If anything is wrong with your table, I recommend you do this as well. Aside from the damages, I must say that I love this table. I looks very nice and the lift mechanism is very smooth. The drawer is a little clunky, but it's still nice to have. I use the bottom party of the table for storing a blanket. The fact that it rolls is very nice. I have a reclining couch so I need to have the table far enough away that I can still recline but when I want to eat on the table, I roll it closer and bring the lift top up. I might buy bigger casters so it will roll even easier. I spent an ungodly amount of time researching every lift top table available on the internet, and this is the one I picked. Many of the others looked ugly, had a lift top height that didn't make sense, or had too much going on for table. I do not regret this purchase and I'm glad I went with this one. Hope that helps. I don't normally spend the time to write reviews, but this table deserves it. Wow! This is a fantastic table! The quality is excellent, the look is elegant, and the finish is quality. In a furniture store, this table would easily have a $500 sticker price. The instructions that came with it, well....they weren't. They don't actually describe how to assemble the table. It's pretty easy to figure out, though, as there's really only one way things can go. There are felt-lined drawers on both front, and back of the table. There are retainer latches to keep the lift-top from being opened (to keep children from pinching fingers). The finish isn't the most heavy duty, but it falls in line with the price, and still looks amazing. I would recommend having 2 people to assemble it, but it's possible to do solo. Overall, I'm incredibly happy with this table, and it's an absolute steal for the quality and elegance!

Arrived in good condition. Fairly easy to put together, basically you just need to attach legs. But you need an extra set of hands. Table is large, heavy and sturdy. Real wood, not particle board. I did not use included wheels but put felt rounds under each leg as we don’t have a carpet under it. Top lifts up fairly easy and stays up at any position. Handy storage compartments under top, large shelf on lower level and 2 small drawers on each side. Getting compliments on it. May be a tad larger than I was expecting but overall very satisfied with it.

Arrives as a marvel of shipping compactness. Weighs almost 100 lbs, and must be assembled upside down, then turned over. Presents an interesting challenge if the assembler is just one person, like me. You must use ingenuity and some of your household items. I used a stack of books and a couple of sofa cushions. No problem! One supplied fastener was too long, (an assembler's nightmare!), but I rectified that with a hack saw. Once assembled and turned over, the finished product is aesthetically and functionally beautiful. 5 Stars!
