I have a 18ft wide pool how far does the reel extend past the opening?

Yes..but the more you increase the width the strength of the reel will be sacrificed. I also felt customer support was non existent.

My wife and i just unpackaged a vingli, but there are no written instructions. are there instructions available on line or?

Did anyone every get back with help on those instructions? We don’t have then either and the outer/inner tube part seems way too long and is not sturdy with only a foot or so overlapping. Don’t even have a cover in it and it’s sagging! And help would be great. Company has not responded to mey nquiry. I can’t believe they are not online

Will this fit 18x40 pool or should I go with the 21ft??

Go with the larger one. I have mine stretched out to 16 feet for a 14 foot wide cover. Stretching it out to the Max of 18 feet, it will work but tends to sag in the middle and you will need the extra foot on each side because the cover will not always roll up exactly in the same place every time especially if its a little breezy when you roll it up. It is a one person operation but, its always nice to have an extra person to help on windy days. Remember to go slow and it will work great. I love mine it works great but, I lay mine down when the pool is covered because the wind tends to get under the cover and pull the reel over. So YES, always go bigger. Hope this helps...enjoy.

Can this roller be cut down to 11' ?

My pool is 11.75 Feet wide. I wanted it cut to like 12 feet So it’s on my handyman’s list. But after using it I’m realizing the extra couple inches I was allowing for isn’t really enough the reel needs to be very close to the edge to get my length of 35/36 ft so I decided to allow for a foot over on each side I’m going to cut it to 14 feet
