I have medium brown skin and dark hair(African American woman), I’m the targeted demographic but unfortunately this product doesn’t work. I shaved my chin area as instructed and now my hair is thicker and growing quicker than when I usually pluck, so disappointing and upsetting, doesn’t work, I have more hair than before I started. I feel like this product makes things worse for you and you will eventually have to go to a professional which will cost more because this product doesn’t decrease the hair visibility or growth, it’s being increase by the shaving to ‘clean” the area for a machine that doesn’t work. Don’t buy this waste of money go to a professional. Also I love been getting headaches after using it so that’s very concerning because I instantly think of what’s this effect on a person in the long run. STAY AWAY!

I bought this laser removal product because I was tired of constantly shaving my lip area and under my chin every other day. I was a bit shocked at the price, but I read the reviews that stated this product is the best one for people with darker skin tones. I love the fact that this product has three heat intensity levels which allowed me to slowly progress to the highest level, which is the third level. The directions were pretty simple and the product is very easy to use. I’ve been using this product for a couple of months now and I’ve had to use it sparingly maybe every one to two weeks. Now, this may seem odd because it’s considered a laser hair removal product, but actually what it does is reduce how much hair comes back after you shave it off. I probably would get better results if I actually went to a laser hair removal facility, and have it professionally removed. But then again your hair will grow back but not as thick and not as fast. I plan to continue using this product every now and then but I’m not sure I can say that it was worth the money that I spent.

I was a little nervous at first, but this IPL device is actually easy and pretty gentle. After a few uses, hair grows back slower. Definitely a nice at-home option if you don’t want salon visits.

LIKE A LOT OF THESE DEVICES, THEY WILL ADVERTISE HOWEVER STRONG THEIR DEVICES ARE AND PROCLAIM THAT IT WILL CREATE THE EVENTUAL REDUCTION OF HAIR GROWTH, YET ALL THE DEVICE SEEMS TO DO IS SLOW THE PROCESS OF HAIR GROWTH. INSTEAD OF SHAVING AND THE DAYS IT TAKES TO COME BACK IN FULL, SO IS THIS DEVICE DOES LIKE A RAZOR, EXCEPT IT TAKES MAYBE 1, 2 OR 3 WEEKS FOR YOUR HAIR TO COME BACK COMPLETELY. THIS IS HOW MOST OF THESE DEVICES ARE SOLD IS IN THEIR PROPOSED WAITING TIME FOR IT TO WORK. BY THE TIME MONTHS HAVE PASSED, YOU CAN NO LONGER RETURN THE DEVICE.

The company proudly claims the device is “FDA-cleared,” which is technically true—but wildly misleading. The clearance they’re referring to (K232117) is for a professional-use medical device, not a home-use product. It falls under product code GEX, which is reserved for prescription-only lasers used in dermatology clinics, not in living rooms. In fact, according to FDA rules, this kind of device must carry an “Rx Only” label, and be sold only to or on the order of a licensed medical provider. There is absolutely no sign of that requirement on the packaging, the manual, or the Amazon listing. What bothers me most is the false sense of security this creates. The average buyer sees “FDA-cleared” and assumes it means safe for home use. But the clearance was for supervised clinical environments—not for casual use by someone with no training and no protective eyewear. That’s a huge safety and trust issue. And then there’s Amazon. Their own policies prohibit prescription-only devices from being sold directly to consumers through normal channels. Yet here it is, fulfilled by Amazon, sitting in the Beauty category like it’s just another hair trimmer. That’s not just oversight—that’s negligence. So no, I can’t give this more than two stars.
