I decided to hop on this balloon charm trend and got my first name initial. I was expecting it to be a light weight hollow charm, but it’s actually a solid piece of metal with some weight to it—which is probably good as it helps keep the charm hanging down rather than getting caught on small gold beads spaced every inch or so around the chain. The charm is shiny gold and I’ve worn the necklace several time for full days in hot summer weather, and the finish seems to be holding up well so far. I am careful to make sure not to bathe wearing fashion jewelry like this, as well as avoiding using lotions/perfumes, etc. on my skin that will come into contact with the necklace, as it would likely remove the shiny gold finish. I have gotten several compliments on this necklace, and feel it would make a nice, modestly priced gift.

This gold bubble initial necklace is beautiful! Can't believe it also comes with the gold chain as well. The colour of gold looks great with my other gold jewelry. Just a note, you can't take the initial charm off the existing chain due to size of charm holes not fitting over the chain clasp, not a big deal as the chain does have extender on it. Will definitely buy again as a gift.
