At a younger age, our dog's sleek black coat almost glowed, especially in the sun. As she aged, her coat became more dandruffy and dull. I assumed changes in formulas to the supplements or foods she was on were to blame, so we swapped brands and played with various oils and potions to help with coat quality without much change - still dull. She was in great health otherwise. Just didn't have the same stunning coat she used to have. At our most recent vet, it was suggested that maybe we try collagen for our dog. Not for her coat, but to support a progressive mild tendon issue my dog has been diagnosed with. I did a lot of research and decided on Fera brand 5 Type Collagen, mostly because it was one of the most comprehensive brands to also contain named UC-II collagen, which does have studies done and has been shown to be effective at it's job. It's overall somewhat spendy for what you get, especially for the amount a large breed dog needs. But with named UC-II in it, I was willing to pay a bit more for something with research to it. Our large breed dog has been on it for over a month now. She loves the taste when mixed in with her wet food. That said, she'd not a picky dog and would've probably eaten it just straight out of the bag. She's had no digestive issues while on it, either. More astounding though is we are back to a soft, shiny, dander-free coat that we had years ago. Shedding has dropped as well. I can't tell you how effective it is for mobility, as our dog is currently more in the prevention phase than treating-a-problem phase. But if it's working for her joints as well as it's working for her coat, I am happy to keep her on it! Great product!

Got this for my grandpup. She's a 95 pound German shepherd that was struggling with hair loss and itchy painful inflamed skin and ears. Within days the scratching slowed down. Within weeks the ears were healed and her hair was growing back.

I've been using this for our 15 yr old mixed breed dog and 19-year-old cat. I haven't noticed any changes with the cat but I have definitely seen our 15 year old dog seem much more spry and less achy overall. Not sure why there's a difference between the two animals but grateful to see that it's helping the one at least. I'll continue to use it as it doesn't seem to bother him and he is kind of picky and his old age. I dissolve it in a little bit of hot water before plating his food and mixing it in.

My dogs have been doing very well on this powder. This brand has always been good to my dogs, especially my older one with bad skin allergies. I’ve seen a big difference in his skin health using this product, along with fish oil, and pre/probiotics from Fera as well. I recommend!

Switched to this powder from a competitor's overly processed collagen chews. The change in my dog's mobility and energy levels were almost immediate noticable! Talk about effective!! It has no smell but must taste delicious, because my dog gobbles it all up right away. If you are looking to add collagen to your dog's diet, this is a must have to support their health. I will absolutely be using this product in the future!!

As a loyal FERA customer, I was looking for a collagen supplement to support my Doberman after her ACL surgery. I've used other FERA products with great success, so I decided to try this one. I'm happy to say that it didn't upset her stomach, and, most importantly, her limping significantly improved after I started giving it to her.

Updated review to 4 stars for customer service. They contacted me upon seeing my review of our dog's reaction to this product and issued a full refund. I do not believe there was a quality issue with this product. Our dog had developed a beef allergy that we were not aware of and the main source of collagen in this product is bovine derivative. Got this for our cat hoping it would help with his miliary dermatitis caused by his Solensia injections. Decided to also give to our dog who is always itchy in hopes of discontinuing his Apoquel. Our dog ended up having a serious allergic reaction to the collagen powder and had to be put on Prednisone and an antibiotic. Had to stop it for the cat, too, since the dog could potentially eat from or lick the cat's bowl. Both were only taking it for just under a couple weeks so was too soon to tell if it was helping.

This has helped my 16 year old cat grow shiny, thick fur. Even the vet commented on how nice his fur is. When I first adopted him, he had sores all over his body and his fur was very thin. He was even losing fur in some places. He is on a Chinese herb that helps with his sores so I can't say if the Collagen has helped contribute to helping his skin (but I'm sure it has), but it definitely has transformed his fur! It took a couple months of using this to see results, but it's worth being patient. Also, I only use 1/4 tsp daily as he is only 9lbs. It has helped me save money and the results are still there.

This is a good item but it didn't work for my dog!

I like it. Zero scent from the product. Important for my picky dog.
