I have had my chair for a few months. I have had no problem with the seat getting "squishy". If you are asking about forever, I can tell you for sure that nothing stays new forever. I am very pleased with this chair. It is a chair for a waiting room/reception room, but I use my chair in my living room. I sit in it every day when using my laptop and that means 8-10 hours a day. I love it!

Q: is this chair returnable once it's been assembled?

I dont think you would be able to return it without bearing shipping cost unless there is a manufacturing defect. The Customer service is generally very supportive to resolve any defects and other issues.
