Review: 2 days autonomy, not a smart litter box, JUST A SCAM - The basket fills up in a couple of days, the "supposedly" smart box is not smart at all, because the mobile app is not available in Apple Store nor Google Play Store. Definitely not worth the money for a plastic box. Manufeacturer refuses to support it, seller rejects the return. THIS IS A SCAM Review: I have had a Litter Robot 3 for just over four years, and it has been relatively problem free (occasionally has faults, mostly due to me putting too much litter in). However, it is very tall and I have a kitty with bad hips and noticed him having difficulties getting in/out of the Litter Robot, even with the steps. So, when I saw an ad for the Meowant SC02, I was interested in giving it a try because it has a much lower entry. I finally got one and set it up, and my kitty immediately started using it. He can get in/out MUCH easier, to my relief. Some things I have noticed that I like better about the SC02 compared to the LR3: it is a bit smaller dimensionally; being a tiny bit narrower and much shorter so it may be a better choice if you need it to fit into a smaller space. It is FAR quieter; I can hear my LR3 cycling across the house but barely hear the SC02 cycling when I'm the same room. It also seems more sensitive to a cat's weight that the LR3, which sometimes did not register my kitty who is about 6.5 lbs and on occasion would start to cycle with him in it. The SC02 has no trouble sensing his weight so the risk of it cycling while occupied is significantly reduced. I like that the cycle time isn't limited to specific intervals, and there is more flexibility in programming. I also prefer changing the bin on the SC02 as I don't have to move the steps and pull a tray out from under it. The deodorizer seems to work better as well. I haven't been able to get it to calibrate properly, but it may because we have bare floors during a post flood remodel. Hopefully it will calibrate later on when the new floors are in. It is a bit odd that it doesn't have a power button and can only be power cycled by physically unplugging it. I have heard that the Litter Robot 4 offers the same features that the Meowant has over the LR3, but at more than twice the cost. This is a fairly reasonable price automatic litter box, and it is a safe design that doesn't have a closing mechanism that could trap or crush a cat. It also needs less litter than the LR3. I would highly suggest searching for the separate sifter with smaller holes as the one that comes with it has larger holes that allow waste bits to sneak past. All in all, highly recommend! I hope it lasts a while. Update: I added the above mentioned replacement sifter with the smaller holes as it seems more effective for small particle litter (I recommend leaving the original sifter in for larger format litter like pine), and also a snap on barrier on the bottom of the entrance because someone (and unknown one of my three kitties) peed out the opening more than once. These have definitely helped but the BIGGEST code cracked is how to keep it as clean as possible. Clumps were sticking to the inside of the barrel - just like they would do in my LR - and it was frustrating. So, I cleaned the surfaces really well, wiped down the interior with Armor All and then wiped off the excess, and switched to Arm & Hammer Hardball litter. Not only does the Hardball litter clump tightly, so far none has stuck to the inside of the barrel AND it's a super soft litter which will be more comfortable for little peets.

This has been a significant advancement for me. The convenience has been unparalleled. The setup was straightforward, the opening is ideal, the noise level is minimal and the user interface is intuitive. I have been using it for over a month now and there has been no odor whatsoever. Cleaning the machine was also effortless when necessary. Since I have only one cat, I replace the liner at least once a week. There has been no odor from my experience. I did reach out to customer service with some basic inquiries and they responded promptly due to the different time zones. Their exceptional customer service further enhanced the experience. This machine is undoubtedly worth the investment. I highly recommend it to everyone. You will need to determine the appropriate time for self-cleaning after your cat uses the litter box. For me, 20 minutes is optimal. However, it is crucial to ensure that you do not clean the litter less than 10 minutes after your cat uses it, as this will prevent the litter from clumping and result in messiness. Therefore, I recommend taking responsibility and monitoring the time interval after your cat uses the litter box for self-cleaning. As with any new product, patience is essential to determine what works best for you and your cat. My cat immediately embraced the litter box. There was no need for transition; she understood its purpose and handled her business effectively. I promptly removed her old litter box. If you seek a reliable and hassle-free litter box, this is the ideal solution. Even extended vacations, such as the one I recently took for over a week, can be enhanced by using this litter box. I express my gratitude to Meowant for creating such an exceptional product and providing exceptional customer service.

I’ve had this box for a few weeks now and here are my thoughts: The good: 1. I have a very curious cat who is into everything, and I was hesitant to buy an automatic litter box bc I was worried he would climb into it while it was cleaning and he would end up with litter all over him. That doesn’t happen with this because the weight sensors work really well and if he climbs into or on the box while it’s cleaning, it immediately pauses the cleaning cycle. 2. You can use the app to program how/when you want the box to clean. My cats were wary to use the box at first because of the automatic cleaning, so I turned that off and was able to use the app to schedule cleanings throughout the day when it would be least likely to attract their attention. I can also just click a button in the app to do a clean if I notice someone has used it and it needs to be cleaned. 3. I like that you can use whatever clumping litter you want with this. 4. The waste tray is easy to empty and big enough that it lasts for a few days 5. Assembly was easy enough 6. I have 4 cats and have one who only wants to go potty in a completely clean litter box so this has been an amazing addition for him. 7. The cleaning cycle is quiet. My cats can hear it but I can’t. The not-so- good: 1. The box is enclosed so if you have tall cats like mine, it can be difficult for them to fit in there. It took a while for them to figure out how to move around in there and sometimes they end up peeing outside of the area where litter is on the side of the box bc their body is just too tall/long and it’s hard to get situated. They are all within the weight limits listed. 2. Some of my cats are jerks when it comes to litter box use. For #1, they dig to the bottom of the litter and go right on the bottom of the box and for #2 they just go right on top and don’t cover it. Because of this, sometimes the cleaning cycles don’t fully get the waste. I just keep a litter scooper nearby and use it to scrape the bottom and knock anything off the sides of the litter box down and then run it again. 3. The app doesn’t always notify me when someone has used the box. Sometimes it’ll go an entire day with no notifications. I can still use the app to clean the box but no notifications, and there’s no rhyme or reason why it turns notifications off and back on. 4. I do wish there was a notification for when the waste tray is full.

One star because of the game playing, poorly named, customer support. Litterbox broke after 13 months, one month past warranty. Customer support is useless. They take weeks to answer email (forget the chat function), and then just ask for your order number. Which if you purchased from Amazon, they won't help you. Was told to contact another slow department for non-company purchases. They asked for a screenshot of the order from their website (yep, non-company purchase department wants company purchase order number). Been three months trying to get help but get only the same stupid response which takes weeks. There is no help nor FAQ on their website that actually has any information other than sales promotional. Drum stopped rotating at the dump position and will not return to home position. I asked for suggestions to repair the unit. Only response has been to ask for the company website order number. This is not my only automatic litter box so I have experience with others. This one worked fine until just after the warranty period. Although they apparently will not even think of helping you unless you purchased from their website. We just want some suggestions on repair, not asking them to replace the unit. But the useless customer support only asks for the company website order number when they deign to answer my emails. Secondary issue; the WiFi connection only works with 2.4Ghz, which is not set up in my home network. You need the app connectivity to make any changes to the dump delay timer. No problem with the default timing, worked fine until of course, the drum stopped rotating. If you do want to roll the dice and purchase: waste hopper is easy to empty. Although the base unit is sensitive to overfilling so pay attention to the fill line when adding litter. Large opening is good for the cats. Unit is quiet (makes the LitterRobots sound loud by comparison). Smaller overall dimensions than the LitterRobot so it can fit under a countertop. A bit awkward to pick up as it lacks any handholds (i.e. when emptying for cleaning) but not overly heavy. And the aforementioned WiFi issue.

Very easy to set up. Runs extremely quiet. Low profile to the ground makes it easy for my senior cat to get in and out. Waste chamber could stay on to be a little bit bigger for a multi-cat household but holds enough if you change it daily. Add on lip helps keep litter in the box when cats like to dig and bury. App works very well but didn't always catch when the cats are using the litter box but it was great initially to confirm the cats were using the box and not making a mess in the house. I have a bad elbow and not having to clean a litter box everyday has been exceptionally great to not have to worry about.
